Any injury or regression amongst 28,88,63,18 and 13 means the team will more than likely be a bubble team and depending on severity of either a DNQ possibility.

People are playing with fire thinking Kastelic, Beecher, or Koepke are any answer to
becoming a force in the top 9.

Sounds like the usual doomsday scenario we've heard for how many seasons now?

Couple of thoughts:

Max Jones was not signed to sit in the press box. Don't think he fits on the 2nd line even though he practiced there with Marchand out? Unfortunate that he accidentally hacked a ref to start the season.
There is no answer at 2RW. I hope they give Frederic a trial. He scored 18 goals last year, 17 the year before. I feel like he could get 25 goals playing with Coyle and Marchand. Second line needs someone with size and some touch. Have read that Marchand wanted Geekie on that line. Geekie leaves me wanting more, he's not a bad guy to have though.

So where does Koepke, Braz, Tufte, Jones, Johnson etc fit? Seems like Kastelic is a lock for 4th line C. Maybe Beecher can play up in the lineup? He seems great where he is though. Can he play 3rd line wing? He has speed.

I love watching Zadorov. I feel like he has not played well against the Panthers for some reason. He was very physical in the Montreal game, repeatedly hitting the young D-man from BU. Lane Hutson? Maybe Zad is still learning the Bruins D structure? I like him paired with McAvoy. Harder to target Mac with new Z on the ice next to him.

Lohrei is ready for a bigger role. He had a tough opener in Florida but has been getting better each game since then. Not saying he is LR, but he reminds me of him for sure.

Larry Robinson.

I'd like to see them sign Johnson asap. Just slot him into a middle 6 role and let him go to work.

I don't see the point, are we committing to Geekie or Brazeau going to the bench and waiving Jones and Tufte?

I don't see why people are pining so hard for someone who was horrible last season. Sure he looked good in preseason against AHL guys

No money left thanks to Swayman.

It's not really a money thing. Johnson should make NHL minimum, which means he'd be a cost savings over jones.

I wouldn't be so quick to brush off Marchand getting a "maintenance" day after only four games. After all he's been through, I'd be at least mildly concerned. Maintenance days allow players to rest and recover from any injuries or general wear and tear on their bodies. The B's are just starting.

If true fine, but should take it as a warning what can happen, and start planning what options can be taken.

Don't look now, but BOS is far from the only "contender" stinking up the NHL right now. EDM, NAS, COL, VAN aren't this bad and neither are the Bruins. Hell, FLA and BOS are tied in the standings.
EDM / FLA have the Stanley Cup hang over and COL/VAN have major injures. What's the Bruins excuse?

I feel like we are going to be talking in circles on how to fix the forward group all season but here is the thing...there is no solution. The only possible ideas are subbing out 3rd liners playing on the 2nd line with other 3rd liners or my new favorite one, a 4th liner to the 1st (Kastelic )

I'm not trying to come off arrogant but I've been very local about how average our forward group was all offseason and I just find it funny it's coming to a head so soon

The only thing they can do now is stick with what they got...because to be honest, they don't have any options unless they feel desperate and call up Lysell for a talent infusion

I'll tell you this, subbing in guys like Tufte and Max Jones is just re-arranging chairs on the titanic. It might give you a jolt for a game but it's no solution.

I absolutely despise this idea as a fan but the only thing I can possibly think of is to implement the 1-3-1 and completely lean into your goaltending and defensive structure. Again, I HATE this idea but situationally it makes sense based on the make-up of this team.

They need something to drive the cats mad, a way to get under their skin. Put all this BS behind you and make them endure one of the most boring games of their lives. I just think they have no chance playing 5v5 against them. The difference in offensive talent is blatant and it might neutralize their forecheck by having a defenseman hanging back who can chip it out quick before a forward is on him
