Vancouver, B.C.
Remaining cap hit: 4,671,875
Bruins cap space: 763,980
Need to move: 3,907,885
Oesterle/McLaughlin to Prov: 557,031 each

Need to find an additional 2,793,833.

As of 5pm yesterday.

They could make the money work, but do they have the assets to aquire Kreider?

That's the million dollar question.
Actually, as you pointed out for us, it's the 2,793,833 million dollar question!

KPD in today’s Globe:

“Take this to the bank: If rumors lead to reality and the beleaguered Rangers put Chris Kreider up for trade, he would sign off on a deal that would send him home to the Bruins. Among the roadblocks: the $6.5 million cap hit on Kreider’s deal that still has 2¾ seasons to go. To make room for him, the Bruins would need to move out roughly $5.5 million in cap money, be it in roster bodies sent to New York or elsewhere …”
Coyle is someone they should look to move either way, if you can include in a deal with NYR great, if not trade him for picks or whatever.

As the biggest Kastelic homer here, I think he's a lehit top 9 forward. How does that change the roster going forward? Well, it means all of our forward toughness isn't on the 4th line, for one.

Frederic- Coyle -Kastelic

Is the biggest 3rd line in the league and MK can hopefully drag Freddy into the fight.

Kastelic is our best faceoff guy, so more draws would be good too.

That line was the best line of that period. Great to see

Love it. It's frustrating when folks pigeon hole guys as "no more than..." before he gets a chance to show if he actually can be more than.

Great to see a guy seize the opportunity when promoted. Let's hope it keeps going.

What does earning a call-up look like to you? I would suggest that if the big club wasn't so hurting for any kind of offense, it would be easier to keep Lysell down and set some sort of production bar before he gets called. As it stands, they need to try to get help from somewhere, and blowing up the current roster isn't feasible or an option. Even making a trade work to get one guy that can help is not the simplest of things: Boston has a bunch of junk right now and the ones other teams might want in a trade are players they can ill-afford to let go of right now. So why not Lysell? If it doesn't work, you lose nothing you weren't going to lose anyway.
I was hopeful Johnson could add something but it’s time to end that experiment. If Lysell only has to play as well as or hopefully better than Johnson or McLaughlin then the bar is set pretty low .
