The question will be is if they allow Sweeney to make those decisions. If the bruins moss the playoffs he’s gone.

Do they really want to let someone make those big of decisions who won’t be here?
True, if they can Sweeney that would be the silver lining to a season they miss the playoffs, ideally though DS can swing some deals soon enough to turn this team around.

Any trade made at present is a panic move. Wait a couple of months if they are not in a playoff position, become sellers big time. What I DO NOT want to see is Management trading away the future just to try and get in the playoffs
Agree I don't want top picks traded for band-aid solutions.

If they pulled a Washington, that would be nice. Sell off some players and retool. Is Sweeney the man for that. Probably not because most of these guys are his. Poor Charlie has some thinking to do. 😬

Sweeney already did it once if you recall. It was literally his first year as GM. And he wanted to go further with it, but ownership wouldn’t let him.

All you guys going after each other because you are passionate, yet our jellyfish players are home eating leftovers and eating custard pie waiting for the banks to open Monday to cash their paychecks.

Pasta has his next clown outfit already laying out on his bed and the cameraman ready.

What else did he want to do?

Rask

Yeah and it worked out great!

I mean yeah. All the firsts didn’t really work out. Which is kind of the norm and why you see so many teams be Buffalo. Which is why you really want to avoid it as long as you can. Which is why with Pasta at 28, McAvoy and Swayman at 26…you don’t go crazy. Move Carlo for a forward? Great. Deal Frederic? Have at it! Pasta, McAvoy, Swayman? You will lose the deal.

I think there won't be any changes before Holiday Roster Freeze. If, by december 29th they are something like 0.570 ~ 0.580 I believe they would try to get some help, otherwise they could very well stand pat making changes in the offseason. In that case, I could see they firing Sweeney and maybe Cam.

Now please tell us what the GM average tenure is and how far past the average tenure Sweeney is.

It’s hilarious watching you dance around this subject and leave half the relative information out.

Average coach life is 2.4 years and the Montgomery who was one of the winningest coaches in the league during his tenure didn’t even make it 2.4 years.

Yet Sweeney who has won absolutely nothing as well is double the average GM tenure.
Harry Sinden was here a lot longer, and he never won anything, but he did what Jacobs wanted, that is all that matters.

Jackets and Wild swing a trade.

Is there a dance partner for Sweeney to make move?

• to improve the current roster
• to retool for the near future
• to rebuild for the long term

Instead of a trade, (not that I am against one ) the obvious answer seems to be fixing the PP.

Most PP opportunity in league, 2d lowest success.

Even if we were ranked in the middle, that would make a huge difference.

Fire whoever is in charge, bring in an outsider with new ideas cuz this same old crap ain't working
