Interesting.

Someone posted last week that we were a "Kreider away from being a Cup contender" and I thought, but what happens when the teams that are already contenders add their own Kreider.

I guess that's less of a threat now. Good find.
I still expect Florida & Tampa to go balls to wall to add with their future picks but having a 2025 first is a nice little edge to have over the other Atlantic teams in a bidding war.

Marchand has the best wrist shot on the team after Pasta. Maybe even before Pasta, or at least in his prime it was. After that I’d say . . . nobody. Well Coyle can shoot as can Geekie, but they’re just middle of the road NHL shots. There are literally two players on the team with high-end NHL shots. Been the case for years. No one can score off of their shot, which is why they can’t score off of the rush, and why they constantly overpass to try to get the goalie out of position. Because outside of Pasta or Marchand no one can put the puck past the goaltender when he’s in position. Hell, even Pasta can’t this year. Hopefully he heats-up in the new year though, like he usually does, or, even better, out west.
Marchand needs to attack the net more when they set up in the zone on the PP.

This team is categorically not a Kreider away from contending. They are in reality
a Kreider, prime Bergeron and 1st half '22-23 Lindholm away. Thats quite a bit
actually.

I don't know about "prime Bergeron" but I would agree that they are a productive top6 center and LW away (as well as getting healthy) from contending.

Zacha feels like one year all the pucks will hit the net and go in and he will crush his career goal high and then it will never happen again.

With his shot (potential) and ability to get open for grade-A scoring chances, he should be a 35 goal scorer every year.

Troy Terry? I don't think we need a RW. Plus, he makes $7m and I don't know why ANA would deal him. Zegras I get, he hasn't been the same since his lower body injury and he's a UFA in 2 summers. Vatrano is a UFA this summer, but Troy Terry seems like he's part of the bulld there.
I dont think they will trade Terry, but I dont necessarily agree we don't need a RW. I'm a big fan of Braz, but I think pushing Brazeau down to line 3 is what they should aim for, he can be a matchup nightmare lower in the lineup

Brazeau has been one of our best forwards this season. If they are looking to upgrade someone on the 2nd line it should be Lindholm.

Forwards Relative (to their teammates) Corsi % and Expected Goal %
1. Brazeau 7.38 / 2.04
4. Marchand 3.06 / .23
10. Lindholm —.38 / —.02

I said we’re a Kreider away. This team is far from the mess it was under Monty. For one player to solve as many issues as Kreider would I think it should have been done by now. If you get a chance at a Kreider you should jump on it like a jungle cat and don’t look back.

I don't think they are close, but to get there i need to see another month of this team under Sacco. Do they continue to get better especially as they are playing better teams . You can't overreact to the 7-2 week against mediocre opposition. They have stabilized and are showing signs they might be the team we expected to see this year, but we need to see more of that

They are way closer than that. Kreider would make more of an impact than either of the other two.

How many teams have a better record than we do since Sacco took over? I don’t even think Sacco is anything special, it’s just that Monty was so bad that now guys are playing more like they should.

Get Kreider and we’re not even looking back.

They are far from the mess, but I think they're two players away: top6 LW and a top6 C.
