I keep seeing this.

I need help to understand I think.

I'm assuming he plays LW. Which means we'd have to go
Skinner - Zacha - Pastrnak

There's something I'm missing about his fit
I think I would put him on the 3rd line and move Frederic to second.
That's if they sign a 1C.
Marchand Coyle Frederic
Skinner Poitras Geekie
Thats how I would want it anyways

He would be the Jake replacement, you put him wherever he needs to go in the top 6.

Meh I don’t see it. Domi scored 1G & 3A in the 1st round this year (7 games). DeBrusk whom we are almost all okay with letting him walk totaled 5G 6A 11P (13 games). I’d much rather hand DeBrusk 6.5m per for his 20 goals than Domi for 8 (on a stacked Leafs team).

Assuming the Bruins land Lindholm or Stephenson, I don’t see the need to add Domi just for his FO%.

I'm still surprised, we'll actually not surprised, but it still shocks me a bit that folks do not want Jake back and are happy looking at scrubs to fill that line.

Really just 2-3 roster spots left to fill, although I bet we'll see 4-5+ guys signed to create more competition in camp.

I'd like to see a decent #4-5 defensemen brought in for the third pair left side. Someone who can move into the top 4 in case of injury or if Lorhei hits a wall.

Upfront I feel like we'll be in on Lindholm and Toffoli. I'm not thrilled about the contract we'll likely have to give Elias, but I do think he's a decent fit. Toffoli could be a great add, but again I'm worried about the contract he'll get because he's at that age were anything more than 1-2 will get very sketchy from a term perspective but he's definitely going to be looking to get as long of a deal as he can.

Pat Kane could look interesting on a line with Marchand. Doubt that happens, but it'd be exciting to watch.

Lindholm needs play drivers on both wings to get the most out of him as he's a complimentary player.
This is what worries me with Lindholm. I think Zacha and Pastrnak need someone that can carry the puck into the zone and distribute the puck. From what I've seen from Lindholm, I'm not too worried about the zone rushes, but he needs to be the guy that drives the play. I think Lindholm may be a better fit with Marchand.

Like the Sprong idea. He’s fast and a scorer first and foremost. Might frustrate the defense minded cadre in this org. but the guy knows how to shoot a puck. Probably cost less than a Skinner and five years younger.

I think so too.

And I'm fine with Zacha still playing C, but it's dependent on who the LWer is.

Really I see Lindholm as a replacement for Coyle on a line with Marchand going up against other teams best players. That to me is where his skill-set is best utilized.

Some of us are just figuring that he won't be back given the way this has all played out. If he is gone, which seems really, really likely at this point, then his roster spot needs to be filled, and they have to come in line with the budget.

Curious what would be the buyout that Buffalo would be paying for Skinner with a 9 million cap hit?

The table didn't post correctly, but this is from CapFriendly, and the bolded is the hit each year. Ouch. If Sweeney did that several heads here would explode even more lol

If Skinner is bought out I think he is a perfect 3rd line LW that can move up the line-up if there are injuries.
Plus I think he could come to Bruins cheap with 9 million already in his pocket. Maybe around 1.5 Million. Just would be a question of term.

Where does he play on the PP? He ain't taking Pasta's spot and that is his spot.
You play 4 forwards on PP1 and one dee CM. You can move Stamer to Center, keep Pasta and Marchy as well plus one more forward.
Lots of teams use 4 forwards on PP1.
Stamer is 13th overall in the league in total points the last 5 seasons, Sid the kid has one more point than him.
He is a solid hockey player even at age 34.
BTW, Lindholm ranks 50th on the list.

I'd take Pageau if the money was right
JGP is a 35-40 point guy now, did not have a great year last season ( 11 goals).
I do not think he fits well on our team, we need a huge upgrade over him.
Spend the money on someone else.
Atkinson is a player I can see Philly buying out.
His worth is around 1M a year now.
