24 25 Former Predators Thread

At least Poile freely admitted he made a mistake after Tolvanen was claimed.
Two options ... waive Tolvanen or put Boro on LTIR. For some reason Poile kept Boro on regular IR tried to sneak through the guy with prolonged struggles as a Pred. Based on who has scored 20+ since Tolvanen's waiver claim I have no belief he would have stepped up to that level of performance if still here. The move worked out for him.

True. We gave up on him in more than one way. He just was never going to be cemented into the lineup and see consistent ice time with a consistent set of linemates here. The Preds just can't help themselves from bouncing younger players up and down and in and out of the lineup. It's self sabotage.

He sucked in his last 98 games as a Pred. The reality is he was a streaky player and Preds fans use his short hot streak as a basis while it skews things. He never had a 20 goal in 60-80 game span as a Pred. Keeping him required Boro to LTIR .. and with that he wasn't on a glidepath to a 20+ goal scorer. His departure opened the spot for Novak who did well in his first year and a half of full time play.

He's having a high shooting % season again. Would have been a nice player to still have, I don't think it was some grave loss though. All teams will usually find players like this and many will also have ones they let go and do better elsewhere.

I mean it's not that any one of these guys alone were a "grave loss" but each one of the moves that are regularly brought up made the team inarguably older and, probably, incrementally worse. That stuff adds up.

Tomasino 1+1 last night and first star
Glass also had a goal and has 4P in 4G for the Devils so far. That move was harder to be upset about, but I'm happy for him if he can make it work there.
