I Hope DeAngelo takes it well. I will be looking at how he plays next game. He is arguably playing as good as any of our Dmen. This is a AV move..BS!!!

I couldn't get to watch last game. Did ADA have a bad game? Or just part of the rotation to get all the D some games? I hope Staal sits soon. He's probably the player on that D which would benefit the most from taking some games off.

The rotation that doesn't include Pionk or Staal. But yeah, he had a bad game last night, so did everyone else but I guess you can't scratch everyone

I fail to see how ADA doesn't have the coaches trust? Have you missed like...this whole season? I would say that Quinn trusts ADA.

I'm probably the only one but I think ADA was horrible on the D side of the puck yesterday. I think a 1 game scratch is a good reminder for him to keep it tight back there.

Just doing a little devils advocate here. Maybe Quinn feels like Smith is better defensively than ADA against OV and the Caps. I know we're not used to a coach who gameplans but he may just want a guy doesn't rover or jump into the offense as much against them.

I would rather ADA in as well, just trying to get into Quinn's head a bit.

I think it also still has to do with having to play some of these guys to build any trade value. I don't agree with ADA sitting but if it gets Smith enough value for a 6th rd pick or something... I'll take the hit now.

You know what would be fun? For once in the careers of Crosby or Ovechkin that we try to win the games instead of hoping to defend for dear life. God forbid we play a guy that’s going to attack them instead of praying to block shots and hang on for a 2-1 win. I hate our mentality.

Probably rotation IMO. You could lasso the moon with Staal’s leash, I wouldn’t expect him to be scratched anytime soon, short of shooting the puck into his own net and telling Quinn to go f*** himself.

I can deal with ADA sitting a game for the sake of keeping Claesson in.

DeAngelo sitting is ridiculous. He’s been very good lately. However he did have a rough game yesterday so maybe it’s that.

Still I really don’t want him to be Quinn’s odd man out and go to scratch. It’s undeserved based on the body of work all season, he’s been great and on his way to really putting it all together. Yanking him around is the worst thing to do when he’s playing well.

Claesson has been worse than ADA the last few games, so has Shattenkirk. I get why ADA is sitting, but by that same token Quinn should be scratching those 2 if they play badly tonight.

Not surprised about Zucc. I figured when they called up Getts it was probably because Zucc was still having an issue.
