Ceci had a solid couple months than completely unraveled in the playoffs and was easily our worse D. Anyways, he’s cool. We are fine with Ceci and he’s an example of xGF% being wack.

Imo strictly hockey wise it's the caps. Overall though flyers due to fans/region. Flyers and pens haven't really been good at the same time very often. When they are it gets crazy (see 2012).

Idk I think Caps fans are 100x worse than Flyers fans. I've met quite a few Flyers fans I like. I'm 0 for all of them with Caps fans. Caps definitely feel like the bigger strictly hockey opponent, but it's close. I think in the Sid/Geno era the Isles have eliminated the Pens more than the Flyers or Caps have.

I have literally never seen a worse group of defencemen. Russell, Broberg, Niemelainen, and Lagesson should not be in the NHL right now. Barrie was playing small minutes on our third pairing before these injuries. Bouchard has been great admittedly, but he has something like 20 NHL games to his name. He is far-and-away the most capable player in our group back there now.

Broberg has looked impressive by the eye test as well. I fear Crosby and co are going to run rampant on these poor bastards tonight. Good luck.

At one point last season, I believe the Pens were down 5 of their top 7 defenseman.
