Regular season or playoffs ?

Nashville showed you dump it in Quinn’s corner and play the body and he shrivels

Hughes had 59%cf (+17rel), 58%ff (+16rel), and 58.5%xG (+12.5rel) in the playoffs.

I guess "shriveling" includes having better possession stats than the regular season, as well as having better possession stats than McDavid.

You're right I'd rather have the guy with zero goals but better possession stats than the guy who scored the 4th most points in a single playoff run in the history of the NHL

I almost think you're trolling me here

You said Hughes shriveled in the playoffs. Don't go and get all upset when someone posts stats that go against that narrative.

Yes, it's true, facts have a pro-Hughes bias.

You said he shriveled in the playoffs and I showed you the actual stats, because yes, he performed better than he did in the regular season, and yes, he had better possession numbers than McDavid, both by raw numbers and by relative to team.

edit: also I never said Hughes was better than McDavid, but that they controlled play at similar levels during the playoffs.

Makar will always have 2022. And nobody can take that away from him.

Hughes will have every year since then. This is Quinn Hughes league now.

In totality Makar has still been better overall but for the past 15 months or so Hughes has been the better player.

You can yap all you want about possession numbers but he scored zero goals.... Stanley Cups aren't won based solely on xGF - you need to be able to compete physically for four rounds and I don't think he can do it

I mean.... sure I agree with that, but I never said he did, you're fighting a scarecrow.

You said he shriveled and you were wrong. He played better than he did in the regular season.

So you're basing your claim about "shriveling in the playoffs" off of how he had 0 goals scored?

A statistic?

What you think or don't think he would be able to do over 4 rounds hardly seems relevant in whether he shriveled last playoffs.
