Grabner can help the PK which is still a weakness spot on this team.

After a hernia surgery, I'm not sure how helpful he will be, especially with every other player being into the swing of things. I saw no rush, sent him for a conditional loan to the Port. Let him find his legs.

Lesson:

Double team OV all game. Do that, play a patient game, and play the Islanders way, and we wipe the floor with them. The caps caught the isles sleeping the other night and we still had almost 40 shots lol. The isles will be flying today.

Can't do that... Just have to make sure he's not wide open on the power play which is hard and where he is most deadly.

Yep, that one timer is lethal...gets it off quickly, with power and accuracy. D just has to be more aware of where he is during the PK and react as best they can to try and disrupt that pass/close the gap (loves sitting around that left circle). You have to know they are trying to get the puck to him each and every time during the PP. As far as 5 on 5 play, just keep playing our game.

This is precisely the reason why if we had a bigger, meaner, checking unit forward to mark him the club would be that much better off.

Any official word on who is in goal tonight? Assume same line up tonight? No new news on Grabner or a rehab assignment? Staple taking a few days off for Thanksgiving (how dare he lol!)

It is going to be hard to know anything for a couple of hours:

No morning skate for the #Isles today in Washington. Capuano to address the media at roughly 3 p.m.

Our game plan should be simple. Play our game, as always, and stop Ovie. Obviously this is easier said than done, but also easier than stopping others. He stands in one spot on the PP. Hint: guard the left circle. It's not like trying to contain someone flying all over the ice, which we've done against him, Crosby, and Voracek 5 on 5 anyway.

Just don't let him stand in the left circle uncontested.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer here, but I think we lose the next two games.

As for the Bailey hate, I am not huge on advanced stats for what they "really" say, but Bailey has some of the best advanced stats out of any player on the entire team. The fact is, for whatever reason, the other team score much less when Bailey is on the ice.

If we lose today on the road, we thump the Devils tomorrow.
These boy(s) don't accept losing well.

When you say "mean" do you mean dirty? If so, Raffi Torres is your guy(except for that "bigger" part).

I haven't been reading the board as much as I should, but there has actually been Bailey hate? Why?

I don't think we lose the next two, but I definitely don't see us winning both games.

LOL, there was some Bailey hate in this thread. I have no idea either. Only thing I hate this season is JTs blind behind the back passes at the blue line and that the Islanders are leaving the NVMC

I honestly think they're going off of baileys poor play last year rather than what he's done this year. Guys not an all star, not even close, but he's still better than Martin/cizikas.

Might be a tough one. Trotz is a good coach and will probably figure out how to stop the isles system. If isles stay out of the box I say they win.

I'm getting into this mode where if the isles are down or are tied, I'm expecting them to be able to pull out a W. It's a good feeling, but also very dangerous.
I do think this team loses 1 of the 2 games this weekend. But you know what, I'll take an 11-3-0 November every day and twice on sundays. Hell I'll take 10-4 as a worst case scenario too!

Id like to see us come out early again. Caps can score with the best of them and itd be nice to give Halak some breathing room. Sweeping a home and home against a division rival would be huge once again for this team going forward.

Bailey hate (hopefully) explained:
'cause he was bad in the past
'cause he doesn't light up the score board
'cause he doesn't live up to a 9th over all

Black Friday shopping this morning wearing my stadium series Tavares hoodie, walking around Dicks Sporting Goods. I was called out by a Ranger fan.
I was in Jacksonville FL, so it was nice to see a hockey fan!
Go Isles!!!!

Isles Twitter:

Johnson in goal.

Streit in for Boychuck who has an upper body injury.

Might as well give Vis a rest day and run out Dono.
