Just on problem: he’s with the Dallas Lone Stars organization.

well oloffson did go cold . Might not hurt to try and get someone in that will bring some energy

I think they might like how Wagner has been playing too. He's been getting better each game.

Not quite the level he was with the Avs before, and probably just at touch slower than he should be on this Avs team ideally, but he's still getting to where he needs to on ice.

He's still playing that physical game he did in the past too, which is a nice addition. Even Cogs and LOC with their better wheels, don't seem to finish as many hits as Wagner. At least not with the same force.

Cogs spoke highly of him too, saying he was a vet that knows how to play the right way, and hopes they can form a good line. Which I thought was interesting, since that meant cutting someone else out of that line.

He was on an emergency loan before, so maybe they needed to make a decision, and didn't want to risk losing him to waivers.

Wait until he’s on the team for a while and loses the eye of the tiger like what happened with Olofsson.

“IF” they get a 2C, where is Johansen going to play?

If he's not moved at the deadline, I still think he's a good bet to be 4C in the playoffs for a vet line with Parise and Landy if he comes back. Cogs in place of Landy if he's not ready.

Something about Parise being a vet he respected, with a past offensive game he respected, seemed to motivate him for some reason. Landy might have the same impact.

I'm sure they're considering whether they should try to move his salary this deadline, or in the off season, but if they don't need the cap space, I think it's a lot more likely they do it in the off season.

If they don't need the cap space, their rationale will probably be, "Well we knew there was a good chance he would underperform during the regular season, but we brought him in knowing he plays better in the playoffs, so might as well keep him as an option and see that through. Maybe he can up his game again and score a big goal or two."

He'll probably have a short leash though with Wagner, Oloffson, and perhaps a trade deadline addition replacing him if need be. I don't think Bednar will hesitate to scratch him a game into the playoffs if needed.

The writing seems to be on the wall when everyone who’s not working out gets jettisoned except for Johansen.

Then they can switch back.

You seem angry. Have a cocktail.

This game doesn't hurt nearly as bad as it should. Probably a result of it being on NHL Network and not available in my area. Been "watching" the game by reading comments here tonight.

I can't believe the Avs are going to allow someone named Bertuzzi beat them. Someone better step it up here and get an equalizer.
