Has Kadri been mentioned as a trade target by any “insiders”?

He gets discussed on HF but Friedman isn’t on HF (?). So could this be one of the possibilities the Avs are looking into? He might be a soft target since he was signed by Treliving.

Can’t see them going after Hertl at 8M.

The "insiders" always say the Avs are doing something big that no one sees coming. I want to be pleasantly surprised. But I just don't think it happens in season. They don't have the balls for it.

FTR I would be more than fine with Kerfy coming back. He obviously isn’t a 2C (and I’m not convinced he’s a center at all, certainly not full time) but he was a good player for the Avs despite what some jokers in here seem to think.

I don't think this is a player you can win in the playoffs with. When the games get tough, Kerfoot tends to disappear.

Similar to why I'm not an RNH fan. When games get tough that guy is nowhere to be found.

I'm re-warming to the idea of Henrique. He's a better player than Mittins right now. Not a long term fit, but would slot into the lineup just fine.

There is is certainly a lot of some around BUF. They have scouted us quite a bit lately and we have scouted them for quite a few games last week. They also have three top-6 Cs. Of all of them Mitts would be my preference. He is more of what the Avs need being a better producer 5v5. The Avs don't really need him on the PP so 5v5 production is more important for us as secondary scoring. He is also the of the three defensively. I like Cozens's speed though and he is pretty good defensively as well.

Some people have talked about Mitts being only a 60 pt C but it is not a stretch to think his production will have a bump coming here. Most players do. If he could be a 65-70 pt 2C and provide a very good 2-way game that would be absolutely worth losing Byram.

I also wonder sometimes if the delay in getting a 2C is not due to Zegras being hurt right now. He is not due to come back yet so why trade right now and being down Byram without Zegras in the lineup. That is assuming it would be a 3-way trade because ANA don't need Byram. It will also explain why the Avs are trying to get another dman before trading for the 2C. They would get Byram's replacement right away, then make the trade for Zegras but would have to wait for him to get healthy. I think he is due to come back in a week or two.

My preference would still be Mitts though. I think he is a better fit.

I have an irrational hate for Kerfoot and would like to share this emotion with you if you will be accepting of it. Please?

Nobody has yet to show me a link from Friedman linking us to Kerfoot so I will keep thinking that all these Kerfoot talk are coming from him saying that "he thinks the Avs COULD be interested in a guy like Kerfoot". I am paraphrasing with that comment but it is pretty well the gist of what I heard from him last week. I have yet to see anything from him saying that we are linked to him. Big difference.

As for Dater's comment I see it two ways:
1. He has picked that up from Friedman but misinterpreted Friedman's comment or
2. He is being used by the Avs to leak the Kerfoot news to put pressure on another team to lower their ask on a 2C the Avs are interested in.

It was in this 32 thoughts.

Why is he a better player right now?
Henrique is the better goal scorer, way better at faceoffs, and more physical. Mittlestadt is a little better at creating 5on5 offense, but it's somewhat close, Mittlestadt has 24 primary points compared to Henrique's 18. But that is with almost 150 more minutes of 5on5 ice time.

Perhaps there's a reason he's getting almost 150 more minutes of 5v5 ice time, then?

Faceoffs mean nothing to me. If he's playing with Landeskog, for example, Landy is great at them and can take them for him.

I'll trust the guy I know can play a top-six role down the middle vs a guy who is questionable down the middle in a top six role.

2? We won the cup in 2022....

Last season for sure.... The thought of Lars Eller and this 2nd rounder still gives me a headache.....
I'm just prepared for this year's version of Eller that we're going to flush assets for. Another great season for MacK flushed

Henrique is the ideal rental. Middlestat is more of the long-term solution. I could see a multi-player move with Buffalo.... at the draft. I'd be shocked if it happens before the deadline.

Get Mitts or Zegras and give a damn good shot at solving the position for a while. Yeah it may not work, but all moves are calculated risks... and they are risks worth taking. Guys like Henrique, Kerfoot, Laughton, Roslovic, Wennberg, etc etc... they are not solutions. They may work to finish this year (though evidence shows they likely won't), but none of them are guys who can be here 2-3-4+ years and solve the position.
