Nah, he's looked fine in the o-zone. He's carrying the puck a little more than normal in the d-zone, and not having as much success at it.

I'm not even sure if he's carrying it more, now that I think about it; but he's getting caught at it way more than he usually does.

I think he's earned a decent leash all the same; every player is gonna have an occasional C or D game.

Maybe he's better when he's a designated guy to do X instead of everyone doing X and sometimes Y and Z and being interchangable to a degree.

Kinda like you can have too many goal scorers on a line, but with pluggers.

I am leaning toward that belief as well.

He does what he does well, keep him in that role, and let it be his “thing” on his line.

Pionk is having a good game. That one shift on the PP and his shift before that were both very good. He’s been pretty good defensively as well. And I’ve seen him in the o-zone for extended periods of time (not only on the PP).

It’s like a contact hitter who has that one season where he posts higher power numbers and then he tries to change his game, rather than sticking to what worked.

I am a little surprised by the fact that Fast doesn’t seem to be thriving in Quinn’s system.

I admit that I wouldn’t have suspected that.

I think he's a little snakebit. He started off well with 4 points in his first 4 games. He's getting chances, good on the forecheck, and good defensively, as always. He'll turn it around offensively at some point.

No. That's a meme too. The team wasn't good enough in the top 6 because of never tanking and having to buy a butt move. Effort was most certainly not an issue. The Kings were better.

Jeez it wasn't even that long ago.

Look I get the wheel fell off, but you can take away one accomplishment like 2014 as well competely rewrite history because the team fell to shit as expected a few years later.

It's the same reason you see some of the numb skulls dumping on Messier because they only recall his second tour of duty.
