My take on Sweden 2030:

Forwards:
We have a lot of small sized skilled forwards coming up, but we can’t have too many of them to make a balanced team. Hence why I have a 33 year old Kempe in there and Edstrom as 13th forward. Bratt is the odd man out as we can’t have too many small players. A lot of things need to go right, but if the talent born 2004 and later pans out this will be a strong unit.

Amazing rosters so far everyone. The thing I am most excited about is we will start to see the beginnings of a new generation of international teams. Assuming Bedard and Celebrini make the 26 roster - they could also be paired in the future for 30, 34, and 38. Depending on how they age, we could see them together in 42 as well (Bedard 36 and Celebrini 35). That would be 5 Olympic games together.

Schaefer, McKenna and Dupont could also be part of those teams beginning in '30 and running right through until '42. 4 games for them and an absolute core 5 of Bedard, Celebrini, McKenna, Schaefer and Dupont playing together for 4/5 straight Olympic games. Unreal.

If the NHL wants to grow the game and get international hockey right, they need to recognize the value in creating stories and teams that grow together. Keep the NHL in the Olympics.

Hopefully Russia with superstars Michkov and Demidov also play in multiple successive Olympics. Same applies to the America, Sweden, Finland and other squads.

We have been ripped off since 2014 - and robbed of closer to prime Crosby with prime McDavid/Mackinnon in 2018.
