Florida getting a long rest helps them aswell. If they land Hellebuyc and that team stays healthy its going to be hard to bet against them next season.

I'd say he was more like their 6th or 7th best player. Stutzle, Sanderson and Batherson are ahead for sure. Cozens is about the same level but he is a center. Pinto is also a center and defensively one of the best in the league. I'd rank Chabot above him too as he's a pretty good all-around first pairing D.

We'll see. Father time catches all, I'm not convinced Marchand can remain effective. Great looking top six on paper, we'll see how it translates. Brady hasn't exactly been a good playoff performer the times Ottawa has made the playoffs.

Lot of miles on that D corps, too, and still no goaltender.

I'm not saying they will miss the playoffs again; I believe they will firmly battle for the Atlantic division. However, I am not going to annoint them 2027 Stanley Cup champions because they just traded three 1sts and a 2nd for a meathead dummy without having a goaltender yet.
