Robertson turned down $15M from Seattle.

Robertson to the Stars during this entire saga:

According to multiple sources, the Seattle Kraken were given permission by Dallas to talk to Jason Robertson, and offered him approximately $15 million per year on a eight-year deal — but the offer was declined.

That's absolutely nuts

It’s believed the two teams had worked out some kind of trade before the permission was granted, apparently including Seattle’s first-round pick — seventh overall in Friday’s draft.

That's also absolutely nuts! 7th overall for a sign and trade?? Usually the price is like a 3rd round pick!
I thinking you’re missing it here.

Robertson isn’t a UFA, he’s RFA.

Dallas still gets full comp on an offer sheet.

If Seattle offered 7th overall for Robertson, it wouldn’t be nuts

- Avs have had a list of top 4 LHD they’ve wanted to acquire. If not possible, re-sign Kulak who was a great fit and evaluate again by the TDL.

If July 1st comes around and we haven’t either traded for a D or extended Kulak, we can start to panic. There’s 5 days to do that.

Unlike previous years, Sakic has been able to get the key departure trades completed by the draft. This is all positive stuff.

Have you heard anything on Kulak? Is he open to extending in Colorado?

Is he expected to make below 5?
Really hard to say. The projections Ive seen have him around $4.5M. But given the lack of Dmen he could certainly end up higher.

Cap wages has Shea at $4.4M and Kulak at $4.0M.

I'd take both of them at those numbers, and then I think we'd have just enough space for a 7D at league minimum type deal:

Lehky - Mack - Necas
Landy - Nelson - Hughes/Brindley
Roy - Kadri - L'Heureux
LOC - Svechkov - Kelly
Brindley/Hughes

Toews - Makar
Kulak - Malinski
Shea - Manson
Gagne/Aamodt

Would be a very solid roster for October IMO. That defense would honestly be pretty deep, everyone essentially at a #5D level or higher.

And we wouldn't use any of our draft picks to make that happen, so we'd still have some good ammo to make moves at next year's deadline to fix the edges(Probably would want 1 Top 9F, and maybe a better 6/7D).
