Rumor: 2026 Trade Rumors and Free Agency: Offseason Edition

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Right now, teams are eyeing all the primary pieces in the market. Once it shifts to the secondary market, the Avs will make their moves

Stan Bowman f***ed Chicago so bad when he didn't just draft Byram 3rd OA. The NHL tried to gift Chicago Duncan Kieth's heir apparent and the dude shat all over it.

Now 7 years later they're trading a haul to acquire him and a over pay him.

So in my own personal fantasy land the Avs are going to move Nuke at the draft for cheap depth D. And Drury for a third.

Then trade the assets for Nurse with retention.

Then sign Puljujarvi and call it a day.

Depending on if they can dump another forward they may also trade three picks for Kakko.

I am wondering who this year's Burns will be. Despite all our frustrations the Avs are considered a contender and a veteran player still looking to win it all might sign cheap or with bonuses, etc.

We have the assets to trade for any of these guys?

I take Nelson and Kadri over Ritchie and Curran any day of the week. Glad they aren't in the Avs system anymore, cause it means they used them on players that will actually contribute to the team now

I don’t think they’re the same.

Carlo has been a train wreck as a Leaf and is pretty much a cap dump. OEL would be in demand; great contract for a minute muncher who can play in all situations.
That's why there's the laughter.

Carlo is one of the worst cap dumps in hockey while OEL can surely return the Leafs a 1st + prospect if they want.

I wonder if Columbus would be interested in Nuke considering he is under contract four more years. That is good assurance for them.

Leafs moving Knies makes no sense at all to me. He's a good player today thay can contribute in a big way and also still young enough that if they decided to rebuild he'd still be at a good age for a contending team in 5-6 years time as well.

And then they're gonna turn around and not trade guys like OEL who's value will almost certainly never be higher then it is today.

They feel like a team with absolutely no plan at all right now.
