Rumor: 2026 Trade Rumors and Free Agency: Offseason Edition

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Dreger mentinoing some Toronto deals are close, Toronto was a team that has at least checked in on Nichushkin, ergo I think we're going to see a Nuke to Toronto trade, Brandon Carlo or OEL the return.

I see the good old Kadri extension logic never left the organization!
They probably just don’t want to put themselves in a spot where they’re desperate to move Nuke and get crap value.

Who knows what’s available on the trade market though. A Kulak extension isn’t necessarily an automatic. It’s either Kulak or a trade for a top 4 D.

They may have no intention of signing him

This is rich, since you also claimed that me clearly just stating my opinion, “I think they just didn't want to pay Naz like they didn't want to pay Mikko” was "misinformation."

You also said in the same conversation, "Mitts clearly worked under Bednar" when that's clearly not true.

There's way too much nuance in Byram's situation to matter of factly say, "Byram demanding a trade forced it to happen."
Byram asking for a trade may not have forced the trade… But he certainly had asked for one.

In some ways, maybe only since 2022

I've been here since earlier near 2001 but I had different account, more lurking. I've 100% been here 20 years. Maybe 25 ish..

Between HF, and the original Avs forum, plus that fan sight, yes there are those of us who have known each other and been part of this community for 20 years.
I had never heard of ice hockey until 2022.

But I think the community here is great.

I miss the Babe avatars though.

Carlo would be a horrible grab. He wouldn't be able to function in Bednar's system. OEL could be a crazy good grab. Re-sign Kulak, run:

Toews-Makar
Kulak-Malinski
OEL-Manson

Would be crazy good. Idk if having a close to $8M 3rd pair could work tho

Your madness is probably why we lost Hench, did you repost this from the DM you sent him?

f*** you, we all have reasons for our opinions, but we're not the GM dick head.

No one thought Hench knew everything, but he had good insight, experience, and despite shit heads continued to contribute to this board.

It's people like you who make us lose people who are actually valuable to this board. We can't seem to lose you, but you dumb f***s make us lose people like Hench and RIAL in the end.

How about you shut the f*** up, and be thankful for the community we've built over 20 or more years that you're a part of?

Maybe be thankful instead of critical dick head.
lol I didn't even know he left because I left this board a long time ago because of the group think and certain delusional posters, just like RS left but we have actual scouting to do. Just came back to see how the reaction was to the Byram trade and if people had woken up yet, some clearly haven't. You also seem stable after the masses being proven wrong and responded to someone different that it was very obviously a bad trade the moment it happened not a thing of hindsight.

Reactions: niwotsblessing
It was obvious the moment the trade happened it was horrible for the Avs. But on hfavs people thought hench knew everything and he loved mittelbust which swayed the non prospect people. Byram has always been a stud and finally will get PP1 to put up the numbers his talent has always been. Chicago also misses a lot on high picks lately(could've told them Korchinski was going to bust). Cmac made so many awful trades but the Byram trade will always be the cherry on top
Literally zero evidence of this.
Byram is a solid top 4 dman, maybe even borderline top pairing at his best.
He's going to put up more points given his new role, but it's going to become pretty obvious to most unbiased people that he's going to be a really weak top pairing dman if he expects to be "the guy"

Will you guys STFU and take this to PM/DMs? Or, maybe we want to rehash the Moose trade again, too? JFC, the egos.

This is why the idea that demanding a trade should mean a NMC is waived would get ugly fast.

Who's to say what constitutes a trade demand? There's lots of ways to unofficially tell the GM trade me now without actually requesting a trade.

And at some point when a team and player disagree if a trade was requested it will get messy.

People think offer sheets don't happen because GMs are afraid of other GMs reaction.

Nah, the reason why offersheets don't happen more often is

- They rarely make sense and are viable. No, offersheeting Aho which Carolina was immediately going to match doesn't make sense.
- The player actually has to sign up on that offer sheet. Very few players want to go down that route.
They are more a market force rather than a way to acquire talent.

Half the reason they have such a bad rep is Brian Burke got butthurt because Kevin Lowe caught him napping on Penney and his ego wouldn’t let him shut up about it.
