Zacha contract is no worse than any of these

It’s the new NHL

I was told Pastrnak & McAvoy were regrettable
Just because the circus passes through town doesn’t mean you should paint your face and put on a foam nose.

Hold the fort. McAvoy Swayman Pastrnak are your veterans going forward. No need to add Zacha to that list. As it is you’re stuck with Elias Lindholm at his 50 point pace (confirmed by your GM today). Despite how often the Don godfather books 70 points for him this season, Sweeney just pulled the pin on that grenade. Minimize the damage. Keep your core, build your youth, use your assets to add players at the age that fits this team. Zacha age 29 - 37 isn’t a wise move imo. Again, I like the player. A 4 year deal at 6.5m per is palpable imo. Anything more I’m looking to package him into a deal for Werenski Marchenko etc etc

Now do Carolina. And Colorado. And Tampa.

I really thought you got this out of your system. But between you and Donny I may just have to nope out. It’s unreadable.
Carolina well let's see they never can get over the hump by drafting and drafting this year what do you know they sign elehers bussi and they win the cup hmmm makes you think now doesn't it?

Can't wait until game 53 where we're still saying "Hampus is injured, he has a bad knee lets hope he's better next year" instead of trading him now (which they should explore, by the way)
But do you believe there are GMs that want him. Guys that are like oh let’s compete for Hampus Lindholm to anchor our 3rd line d?

Edit. Like maybe Minnesota with all their extra cash and youth or ANA. I think it’s a no. Now maybe a lower pick are you just offloading or what do you expect back if Sweeney did “well”?

Two Florida teams unless of injury are in in my opinion. Right now Ottawa is worse Buffalo is worse Detroit is worse they all lost a top players Buffalo 2 of them they lost a first line 30 plus goal scorer and there second line defenseman so I don't know how you can say they are better Ottawa lost their captain he is Miles better than eklund so they have not gotten better Toronto added radish but he is not going to be anything like he was on Tampa Toronto has much weaker team McKenna is not a threat this year
We are not behind Montreal they only finished 6 points ahead of us and that was with pasta macvoy arvidson missing multiple games for long stretches
Yes we need help and I believe Sweeney will get it over the next couple weeks but to say right now that everyone in the Atlantic is adding is this inaccurate the only team that actually added was Florida the three teams were in direct competition with for a playoff spot all got worse
We aren’t behind MTL? Bro just stop because that is just plain silly. MTL will probably take an ever bigger step forward this next season

Well we finished six points behind them despite having pasta McAvoy Lindholm both of them Victor all missing significant time if we were a little bit healthier we probably would have made up the three point difference so yeah I believe we are right there with Montreal and what do you think our young guys are going to do not take a bigger step forward this season?

I'm fine if they want to extend Zacha 4-5 years. Now his contract lines up with the rest of the group signed until 2030/31/32. (McAvoy/Hampus/Zadorov/Jeannot/Swayman/Pasta/Elias/Geekie).

It's where people suggest 8 years for him that I can't get behind. 9 more years of Pavel Zacha starting this fall? Another decade of freakin' Pavel Zacha? No sorry, can't go there, if I'm Sweeney I'm drawing a hard line in the sand. If Zacha likes it here so much, then take the 5-years or I'll move you, simple as that. This is not a player I'm bending backwards to continue employment. I'll even give up some AAV to get it done, but the term doesn't go beyond 5 years.
