Boston Bruins 2026 Offseason Roster & Salary Cap VII

I still think the best move would be to give EP40 at shot with retention. Add a RD, (Andersson or another other) and incorporate Poitras, Brunet and Hagens. Heck, another year of Mason Lohrie at RD might be the best trade we don’t make.

That’s a good offseason to me.

I truly want to see Geekie, EP40 and Pasta on the PP.

If they fall flat - the 2 Elias contracts (both under 9 million) won’t kill us at all.

You want to use Montreal? Cupless since '93? Dude that franchise was HOPELESS till a few very good draft hits. Like a decade of useless. And even still, I don't think a Caufield/Suzuki shrimp team is going to get it done.

San Jose binks multiple high lottos. That's not that complicated. But they were bad for a long stretch there. Hitting the generational player doesn't hurt either...And still they draft 2nd this year....

Chicago 4 years you say? Since their cup:

People on this site really want to revisit history their way. Does ANYONE want to do that above? Not me...

People need to be careful wishing for rebuilds that turn into 10 horrible years...
You nailed it great post and Info. Now how many will say rebuild still should on, and that was fake info you fed them:shakehead

Are the Bruins contenders? No
Do I want them overpaying free agents? No
Do I want to give up Hagens, Minten, Dean? No

Do they have holes? Yes
Do they have players that need to be moved? Yes
Are their creative wars to add pieces? Yes

As of right now has Sweens done anything? No
The draft is Friday and Free Agency Wednesday.
Let's revisit this Thursday morning with a smile or pitchforks.

You land a Bergeron and krecji through a draft and your back in the thick of things. I believe in strong drafting.
Tell that to the Florida Panthers and the New York Knicks also tell that too the Detroit Red wings Calgary flames Chicago Blackhawks Vancouver Canucks to name a few that have been picking top 10 for the past decade and have not made the playoffs the way to go it's the way the Florida Panthers and New York Knicks just did trade them all away for proven Stars that's how you win in this league

For sure. But if the $$ is good maybe I'd like it. And if he gave you a check for 3.2 million bucks, you'd have to say he's cool bc that's a cool move. And if it rains tomorrow even if you hate umbrellas, you better use one. blah blah blah

This whole board turned into strawman arguments and being scared at hypotheticals they make up themselves.
No idea what you’re saying here but keep them drinks flowing 🥂

Now do Carolina. And Colorado. And Tampa.

I really thought you got this out of your system. But between you and Donny I may just have to nope out. It’s unreadable.

How many first overall picks have turned out better than Pasta? I genuinely don’t know but feel like it is 50/50 at best. The age thing is the part that makes the most sense and I can see favoring it, but the gamble is not worth it to me.

The age thing and the Cap space.

how'd the panthers get barkov again?

Looking forward to the development of Lukas Reichel in 2026. Exciting time to be a Bruins fan!
Marco agrees. He just doesn’t want Hagens to stand in his way. Reichel jerseys are going to be hot sellers.
I’m sure Marco wears an oversized one as he sits by the pool.

Way more teams have failed trade all the picks it works in basketball and it works in hockey proven by the New York Knicks and the Florida Panthers

Detroit Calgary Chicago and many others keep drafting and keep drafting because they keep losing every single year for over a decade meanwhile Florida trades everybody away all the pics and wins to Stanley cups and are the odds on favorite to win a third but yeah let's keep drafting

I have not watched the whole thing, but if you listen to Sweeney's comments about Matthew, it seems pretty clear that this quote unquote good player is on his way out. I hope they at least give him one more chance at third line center, or more likely on the wing.

They mishandled Poitrss, who has his flaws, and basically screwed up his confidence. He regressed in Providence this past season, according to what I hear.

It's a shame.

And the shame isn't on the player,
