Boston Bruins 2026 Offseason Roster & Salary Cap VII

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
So what does sell mean exactly to you?
From the ground up .
McAvoy for sharks 2nd overall
Pasta now to buffalo for 4 th overall mrtka helenius 2 ND round pick 2027 and 2 ND round pick 2028 something like that that one is complicated maybe you all can help me with that one. Start from scratch and sell high on everything. I want to be like sharks where they kept collecting young talent . Takes years but when it's done your the dominant team.

Even if we decide to sell off pieces now.. What teams are still buying?

Feels like rosters are filling out fast...
...Anaheim, Buffalo will still add a piece at least, Colorado is going to jockey bc they are up against the cap, Dallas has a mess to deal with - Robo and Bourque and maybe an outside option, Detroit - Larkin move and they need to add bc they didn't have enough last season, Minny, Montreal wants a 2c, Jersey wants to make some changes, Islanders are gonna wanna shuffle and add bc their window just kinda opened with how good Schaefer is, Philly isn't gonna sit on their hands, SJ has another move to make, St Louis can't be done with those 4 picks - otherwise trade thomas, Tampa needs to do something now that Raddysh is gone and they lost Bjorkstrand, Toronto wants to go for it which includes ditching Reilly - also a lot of middle 6 decisions, Utah might add big (I like them as a partner), Vegas needs to move stuff around bc they're broke, and Winnipeg - is this just gonna be a Hellebuyck move or are the flood gates gonna open?

That was alphabetical order. Lots left to happen.

Making up scenarios in my head? Like you just did? F my leverage? What? Peeke sucks and he wants to re sign him.

Ya he's not gonna shut it down bc that would be dumb and disrespectful. What other answer was he gonna give. And it's also prolly a little truthful. He'd happily take both back at a massive discount.

People expect so much from pressers. Like I know we are a pessimistic bunch but how are you so invested to be posting here on 6/24 and hate everything about the organization.

I love you all. You know more and are better fans than I am but I actually think we have a good GM and I’m not shocked ever when it’s quiet. Sports transactions happen far less than the rumors. Rushed deals are bad deals.

Happy summer!

Just opening my phone today…does Don have hands tied, or is he genuinely this freakin dense? To think this roster would be competitive if they run it back… I just can’t take being gaslit through that presser to keep listening him flip flop and contradict himself. How dumb do they think the fanbase is? Everybody around us improving and dealing, and they want to take baby steps and move 1mph. Stop coasting and pick a lane damnit. This isn’t GMing, it’s what a substitute teacher does. Zero creativity or vision.

We are going to get so lapped this year that unless system play ( Brindamour style) and health carries us, we could be looking at lottery standings in December.
He will make moves he just slow to the gun I agree with DKH I think the final product will be after draft and free agency I think he runs it back with a bit more pop somehow but won't make any difference with the top dogs in the east which is awful and a wasted year for all of us.

Did you go down a list of teams in google to come up with this list? Honestly impressive.

Here's to hoping Don can make something happen!

Florida got better, Ottawa gained Eklund and 3 1st round picks, Buffalo got 4th overall and will likely draft a key player. Detroit kind of sucks, Tampa will add a solid D and Toronto just got 1st overall and Raddysh who's a lethal shot from the point without giving up any significant roster players. Some of those teams won't be better tomorrow, but those high picks and numerous 1st could either gain those teams a solid player via trade, or draft.

What have the Bruins done?
Calle Jarnkrok for 5 years probably

You tell em. Building for the future is done year by year and you have to add at least a little almost every year to avoid staleness and combat attrtion.
These guys have shown time and again that they lack vision, determination, and the ability to get things done.

How do you like where Detroit, Chicago, Calgary and some other teams are at after years of drafting high and rebuilding? How do Buffalo fans feel about 170 years of miserable rebuilding before finally getting progress in 2025-26?

It's not automatic that taking the tank route leads to dominance. Chicago and Detroit in particular have been at it a long time and it's always "maybe next year." And these teams have had drool worthy draft positions many times over. SJ is one team that looks to have got it right.

There is also zero chance (IMO) that this front office buys into a "from the ground up" plan. It's just not happening.

He can do the Brady T send me to ....
I don’t think Brady even did that. Did you see the return? It was a fantastic return. If he did that the return would have been like Taylor hall.

They can easily just say, “too bad we aren’t moving you there for peanuts.”

Brady also had one more year left where as Boston has Pastrnak until like 2031. It’s apples and oranges.

Brady probably was nice about it and told them he won’t resign because he wants to play with his brother and so they made a good hockey deal with Florida.

That return would be hard to say no to for any gm I think.

Every value is high at 30 wait till you see what you get at age 34.

Holy smokes the pessimism on this board is wild rn
What is there to be optimistic about this team is going nowhere in the next 3 to 4 years and probably longer if they don’t make the right decisions and sell. What is the point of keeping pasta around it by the time it’s he is 33-34 and he asks for a trade and his trade value is greatly diminished. Idk man not a lot to be happy about with how stacked our division is and what a juggernaut the eastern conference is

I didn’t get any vibe watching this Sweeney was in trades are hard or wooooah is me

He seemed unplugged and a lot of things in play

I am at the point where I recognized pretty much every voice and they did a fantastic job asking questions

A+ to me and I had a lot of things I wanted to know (full disclosure a few of my questions were asked - got to give KDP getting 5 or 6 in there including a few I was specifically curious about)

The only decent deals in ufa are the bpa which is drastically overpaid and cleaning up the scraps after the silly money is spent.

Deals like Tuch’s get signed today. Teams trade the future away for Bowen Bryam and Jordan Greenway on days like this. No thanks.

I’d rather have a methodical GM but gee it probably would be better if he could act more Neuro Typical for you all. I mean not everybody is made for the media. Though with that said I don’t have a problem with his job on that front either.
