Team isn’t ready for such a move. Is EP considered a big move? 🙄
I'd say so, yeah. He is a possible 1st line C solution / gamble. We could look back on him as the missing piece for Pastrnak.

Or he could be a waste of cap space. Retention and cost are the keys here. Everyone else are going to cost too much of what Boston needs.

Maybe they'll get creative with some of the current players.

Bruins need to sell on Casey and Pavel
Doubt it Jacobs need their first round exit money. Personally I blow this all up because cats have clawed themselves back to the finals for the next 3 years . A nice proper rebuild is in order here no need to deal with these dynasty cats let them finish their cup runs. I've never seen a team this deep they have lundall marchy on the third line where nobody can check them and they can do whatever surgery on the opponent.

The Bruins need help everywhere, but Imo Nurse isn’t the answer and this a big nothing burger

Retention could make him a great comparable to what was done with Seth Jones and his contract.

If Boston gets retention on Nurse and Pettersson and brings their contracts into the right price range, I'd consider it a good off-season.

Here you go Don.

Whatever Donny does please hold the picks and draft and do a proper rebuild there is nothing out there to knock these cats off. Only hope is they self implode maybe Brady and Mathew have a fight in practice and sprain each other ACL.

Here you go Don.

I understand what your saying but did you see the lines of the cats they have a third line that's a 1 st line on most teams. I'm shocked this trade happened and where Brady that unicorn of a player ended up. The rich got richer that's for sure . It's gotta be that vitamin D they have over there is my guess or those mermaids on the beach.

Doing what you are suggesting would take approval from Jacobs.
I’m not suggesting we sell everyone and tank or anything like that. But I would be more aggressive in re-shaping the chemistry of the roster instead of looking to simply outright win in 2027-2028 like it feels right now.

I would listen on everybody besides 1, 73, 88 or Hagens. Actively sell Mittelstadt and Zacha while the prices are this high. Move out dead weight like Kuraly and Eyssimont. I would also ask Hampus if he wants to stick here even though we aren’t winning the couple years. Tell Elias it’s surgery or LTIR. Sell Korpi for future considerations if you have to. Take on a couple of over paid contracts, and buy low sell high candidates so you can start stacking more picks and see what young change of scenery guys could be like here. The bonkers move I would consider is 2OA and Misa for McAvoy+. We can like the idea of Tippet or whoever all day, but realistically they should just aim for u27 players with higher upsides. I think if you do a wild 70% of the above, you’re still a wild card contender like you were this year. The kids will be developing alongside the core and it will have its ups and downs, but promising.

Oh, and sell the 28 FLA pick. It’s basically a 2nd rounder.

Agree.

I mean 80% of people here wouldn’t have taken Seth Jones for a 6th rounder a couple of years ago, but he was very good for Florida during their 2nd cup run.

Again, not lobbying for him, but if he were to come here cheap or as part of a deal that gets us out from under a bad contract, I could live with it.
Same with me. I take Nurse under 7.0 million on the Bruins.

Brady isn't that good.

Samoskevich just went for a first and second.

Tkachuk just went for 3 firsts and a second

At very bare minimum you are getting two firsts for Zacha in this market
Now is the time to sell and then buy low on Nurse AND Petterrson both retained 25% or more. Draft more talent, let the kids fight for spots and let Minten try 2nd line C all year. You also have a ton of 1sts to trade for a winger as well to replace Zacha.

Sweeney has a lot of chips to work with here.

Florida isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Carolina is built to last now as well. Montreal and Buffalo are clearly another tier above the Bruins and are the best bets against Panthers and Canes. Those are 4 incredibly tough matchups in the playoffs for at least another 3+ years. If I was a Don, I would not be so short sighted to think adding Trochek, keeping Zacha or Arviddsson, or drafting in the 20s the next few years is going to be any part of the solution to slingshot us tiers above.
5-7 years take a break rebuild

I think everyone here can take lean years if we can get a McKenna or an Austin Matthews like Toronto

You suck you win the lottery and right back in the playoffs

My concern is pasta age 30 do we sell high on him or we keep on a hope we knock off the cats to become beasts of the East . Most of their core players are 30 or under btw.

Well if he is like he was last year that's more then enough for a deep cats team to go to the finals have you seen that roster properly they have Marchy on the third line and he probably pops 40.
He's an almost point per game winger, who misses 10-20 games a year.

He's not Matt, that's for sure.

They upgraded a forward for sure, but I'd be much more worried if they got a goalie, not another moronic forward.
