Zacha + Lohrei + this yrs 1st? = Tippett and Toronto's 1st?

Is Lohrei and Poitras too much like nickles for a quarter?

I really want to bet on the Leafs being bad. I think that could be 2 top 5/10 picks in the next 2 drafts. They could draft 2 guys who could play right away with those picks alone.

Can someone talk me into Tippett - seems like giving up a 1st and 6+ mil to replace Arvidsson.
Years younger, one of the fastest players in the league, similar goal scoring touch, cost controlled for the future, also a good defender. 43-51 points a season over his last four years, he can fill a role in the middle-six - easily fits on the 2nd line.

As long as he's just a 1st and nothing more, I don't have an issue with it.

I like Arvidsson but I just don’t find him durable at all. Seems like he misses a chunk of the season every year.
For sure - Tippett is real streaky too though. I guess I'm just wondering what I'm missing in paying big assets for him. If he had another gear or could really break out in a bigger role. . .

Zacha's a better player than Tippett in my book, and more valuable position. Even if that part is even , I'm not doing Lohrei and 23 for toronto #1. Yeah maybe the Leafs are bad again, but that is a huge bet on a team that has 2 elite forwards, and seems to be making moves to try to get back into the postseason

He's younger in his early prime so he may have another gear whereas we know what Arvidsson is already which will be less effective long-term, he's signed for 5 more seasons at a really good cap hit that Arvidsson will probably make in free agency, and he can play both LW/RW so is flexible if any Bruins prospects make the team in the next couple seasons.

Didn't realize he was signed for so long

Geekie had a 12 and 17 game goalless streak this season and every time i suggest trading him people shout it down. Streaky is ok with me if his game doesn't dip and he doesn't pout.
