Boston Bruins 2026 OFFSEASON Roster & Salary Cap V

You imagine him and Zadarov on their back end. Intimidating no doubt, but dam the penalty minutes these two would rack up, would be insane by today’s NHL standards.
Risto doesn't take as many penalties as you'd think he does, and he's put up pretty good defensive results the past few seasons. Biggest issue with him is availability, people here love to talk about Hampus like he's made of glass but he's played like 20 more games then Risto has over the past three seasons, and that's with him only playing 17 games before his knee injury 2 seasons ago.

We are back to Ristolainnen again???

Dear Lord, no. His hockey IQ is looooowwww.
He will make Peeke look like a first rounder again.

We are going to have a brute squad on Defense who never play because they are always in the box.
Rather sign Trouba

Would be all for McTavish if their team thinks his development problems are fixable.

The fact that they're interested in Risto makes me think Trouba is also a very real possibility.

We are all focused on offensive guys like Raddysh, Andersson and Carlson, but maybe Sweeney is more interested in trying to recreate the Lindholm-Carlo pair. They were very effective when Carlo was good. I haven't seen enough of Trouba these last 2 years but Risto was good last season, he had very good defensive and breakout metrics. (Trouba also rated very high on pass exits.)

Those two are not "speed and skill" but maybe that comment was directed at the forward group and what they're trying to do up front.

They have dman with skill if healthy and Zadorov has some good jets for a big guy but I dont think id classify Mac and Hampus as fast ever and to me they need a guy with wheels that can handle the puck back there so bad.

It's not a fact that they're interested in Ristolainen. Not yet, anyway.

What we do know is that they tried to acquire Andersson, who is a puck-moving defenseman.

I think they were rumored to kick the tires on Risto at the deadline as well, but Philly wanted a 1st.
I wouldn't be surprised if Boston checked in on Ristolainen. Teams make those kinds of calls all the time.

But the level of interest doesn't seem comparable to Andersson, where we have much more concrete reporting that a trade proposal and a contract extension were discussed.

Ristolainen has been linked to Boston like plenty of other players, but nothing has ever really been confirmed.
