I think he means Sweeney is "swimming with sharks," meaning in a damgerous/expensive situation.
That’s where my mind went too… but if he is referring to a trade with a team with this tweet, I’d rather he swim with the sharks than swim with the rangers or Canucks. Trochek or EP would sink us all.

This power play pretty much matches Tampa's, Kucherov included. They will score a lot of goals. I'm pretty high on Hildeby as a serviceable goalie and if Stolarz stays healthy the goaltending will be fine.

Say what you will about Brandon Carlo, but one of the reasons the Bruins need help on D is because they never replaced him. With Raddysh and Andrae they have improved a lot on D, if Tanev can come back and if McCabe and Ekman Larsson can duplicate their play from last year they have improved a lot back there.

Add an improving young Cowan, and the possibilities of signing McMann back (rumoured), I see the Leafs having a better year than the Bruins unless Sweeney can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

I must say it.... Boston is becoming less of a destination for Free Agents than when we had guys like Bergy and Z wearing the "C". Just a vibe I'm getting.
Cam and Don may be trying but the carrot they might be dangling may not be what guys are exactly wanting.
They didn't come when they were there.

Sometimes the sum of your 6 best isn't enough when your 6 best are natural born losers...

Also shows how fragile teams are when say 2 of those get hurt. You need 4 lines and 3 pairings AND depth.

We are far off from the Chiarelli days of getting Chara and Savard in one offseason

I wonder if the Ducks would value Lohrei more than some other teams with his ability to play his off-side and the mass exodus of free agents on their blueline. They're potentially losing Trouba, Carlson, and Gudas this offseason.

I mean everyone thought the leafs were the top team the past 8 years with Marner, Matthews and Nylander...now one is removed and 2 of the other players are shells of themselves, and you want to compare them to TB top unit?

Good luck

SJ has maybe the deepest pool of prospects and picks in the league, so hopefully Dom's hinting they'll be more comfortable overpaying us...

The youngest defensemen right now in the top 6 for Toronto is going to be 30 in November. His name is Brandon Carlo.

By opening of next season for their other 5D it then goes:

30, 32, 33, 35, 36, with two birthdays bumping the "younger ones" up to 31 and 33 in season.

I mean...

I really like where our pick is going to be in 2 years because they opted not to fix this and patch over it.

umm...what? Bruins are a far more attractive team for free agents than those days. Bruins had just traded their #1 overall and captain in a publicly lambasted trade, the " Jacobs is cheap " stench was still heavy in the air after being the champion of bringing the salary cap to the NHL, and the team had seen the 2nd round once in like 15 seasons.

I’m not opposed to keeping Zacha for a few months, but I don’t want to resign him, and absolutely do not want to let him walk. Having another prospect on the cusp of going pro and a higher pick like that would be amazing. If you had 11OA, it might be realistically possible to move up a spot or two and secure Rudolph if you’re worried he’d get picked by then.
Why do you not want to sign him, I am not saying you should or not, but I would thread carefully

Tread carefully? I mean it goes without saying.

Zacha stock will never be higher. If you can get a top 10 pick or deal him in a package for a surperior younger player, you do it.

Your not giving him away and your certainly aren’t going to let him walk!

That is definitely where Goldblum made his mark.Be no Law & Order for him , without The 🪰
Yeah, he is a very nice guy and smart too. Each day on the set, he would approach a group of us on the set, he would get our names, then later try to remember them.
We had some fun with that, he made an effort, so he had our respect as well.

Then why don’t big name players want to come here any more?

Among the players who are asking for trades, why are the bruins never showing up on lists players would waive to?

Bruins have an owner who spends to the cap, a great area to live and raise a family, but in 11 years the top free agent signing Sweeney has is Elias Lindholm?
