Honestly, Rasmus Andersson might be my #1 player for Sweeney to stay away from. Rasmus has been one of the very few player for Vegas that hasn't played well. 5 points in 19 games. Two huge defensive mistakes in the Carolina win this series.

Also he got booted off Vegas' top PP unit for not producing and vegas is running with 5 forwards there right now.
Yup

He’s looked a bit overwhelmed & got away with a few non penalty calls

If Vegas wins the Cup the trade for Calgary is
Whitecloud
Vegas 2027 # 1
Vegas 2028 #1

I gotta think they sign him

Is it that weird when it's Brady, Matthews, Helleybuck, and Larkin is already confirmed. After Hughes this past season? And JT Miller. And with the Tage rumors about how he was unhappy in Buffalo and was considering pushing his way out before they made their playoff run. And after Eichel and Matt Tkachuk pushed their way out in the past couple seasons.

Lately - the majority of trade requests, rumored trade requests, leaks to the press about player unhappiness are overwhelmingly Team USA and it seems like it's going to take a step up this off-season.
Maybe they can all go one one team and be like the U.S. NTDP who play USHL and college teams

They would not have to have a cap 🤣

How bout a 3c? He is the new Mr. ovverated on this board.
Be careful brother they’ll come after you with a sensible comment like this

He’s already been anointed and there’s nothing we can do about it, I already tried

I think Minten and Hagens are both a bit overrated around here. That's not me calling them busts. It's not me saying they aren't good prospects/players. And it's definitely not me saying I don't want them to succeed. I'm simply saying that the gap between excellent prospect/good player and future star is enormous, and neither player has crossed it yet.

None of this is a case for trading them. If anything, it's a case for being patient and letting them develop before making definitive judgments either way.

Boston has a culture of winners. Chara, Bergy, those guys were instrumental in the culture of this team and the dressing room. What on earth makes people think we're going to sign up for guys who force their way off their current teams and give a 3 team trade list, effing over their former team. What's that saying? Once a cheater always a cheater?

I'm all for guys wanting to be here, but what Larkin is doing shows how much of a punk he is. Talented but don't want him here. Tkachuk, no thanks! Can't stand his face. Talented, but stay away.

I'd take my que's from guys like McAvoy and Pasta who they'd love to be part of this team. They grew up with Chara, Bergy, Marchy, Quaider, Krejci, Looch, etc and know what would fit.

I get what you're saying, but IMO you have to look at things like this on a case by case basis. What did Matthew Tkachuk accomplish before forcing his way to Florida and what have they done since he got there?

There are lots of malcontents that push their way out of a town and there are also some solid people who do it for a variety of reasons, some of which we know nothing about -- (wives not liking a city, conflict with teammates/coaches/ etc.).

As always though -- it comes down to cost. I'd take Larkin and Tkachuk here in a heartbeat for a fair price. This team needs talent, and they have it.

Marchand admitted taxes had an impact on his decision in going to Florida. It’s real.
...and the league STILL has not figured out how to fix this. It's been an issue for a while now, and they even admit they know about it. But hey, maybe it's just a complex answer that requires large league-wide change. If they take too long to make a change its going to shift the league while they hem and haw over it.

If I’m Ottawa it starts with one of Hagens/ Letourneau. Maybe a Lohrei and (2) 1sts.

Bruins desperately need to keep Hagens & Letourneau, their only higher end prospects.
I would do Hagens, Lohrei and Toronto 1st Florida 1st for him signed here longterm .Might be slightly overpayment but I would do it .He would bring alot to this team. Brady is only 26.

Pasta for San Jose 2nd overall draft Sternberg.
Then sign Alex tuch with cap savings.

I'm selling pasta sky high . Stenberg is generation center for years.
SJ would give up the moon for Pasta. Imagine him and Celebrini together. I’d want Misa, Smith, this yrs first and next years!

Besides Stenberg is a wing

he’s either playing for Edmonton or Toronto

The fix is in

Money moves the world and NHL

And not every kid can play for the Leafs if they want - McDavid can

Book it :naughty:

He's not going to the Leafs, McDavid is obsessed with winning a cup, that trumps money/boyhood team, he will move on to a legitimate SC contender, the Leafs are anything but that.

not me nor can I recall anyone who supported grabbing Korpi

I think there were a few of us that didn't mind getting him because he'd been good in the past, but yeah, I don't recall anyone being excited about it and even those of us that thought he was a decent goalie knew it was part of the price to make the deal work.

They only have about $9M in cap space, still need to re-sign Brink and Hunt, and their roster is basically a first line, a fourth line, Hartman, and a bunch of young players.

Larkin feels almost impossible unless multiple contracts are moving out.

To me, Brodin remains the most obvious trade candidate. And if Boston retained 50% on Mitts, he'd cost just $2.85M, which is a lot easier for Minnesota to fit in.
