If Samoskevich manages to return 25OA plus a 2nd as a 30-point winger, surely Eklund can return a first round pick in the early teens? I'm not saying we should trade him but we should be able to fetch something good if we do so.

the original argument is Eklund is worth 13OA-19OA pick value (a teens pick)... and my point was 13OA-19OA picks aren't "center pieces" to any 1D trades.

it took two "in the teens" draft picks to get Dobson. So it will take more for a 1D.

If SJ made a Quinn Hughes offer it would be Dickinson (Buium) + Eklund (Rossi) + Musty/Bystedt/Chernyshov (Ohgren) + EDM's 26 1st rounder.

I wouldn't categorized Eklund as a center piece in that deal... I would call that a lot of equally leveled assets. VAN went for quantity because there is no way to get quality in these types of trades.
