Is it really better for the sport/tournament to have 12 of the top48 countries sitting out to include seed #50,56,57,60,61,63,64,67,73,82,83,85? 🤔

It was okay when it was 32 teams because it was usually just a couple odd teams in it and felt more balanced in the group stages.

There’s not really one group of death and now Canada will likely qualify each year with 48 teams. The grind to make World Cup 2022 was an incredible watch and journey. Now they can sleep walk their way in.

The most exciting part is a random team might be able to go on a run and win 2 rounds if they get lucky and make the quarters…

Group stages seem almost unimportant. It feels really washed down talent. Anyways, as a sport fan, I have it on tv but I wish it accounted for world ranking as well as a play in.

Maybe a different system to qualify would have better teams and make the qualification more important.

Yeah, you could live with some weaker teams because it was the best of each region. But with so many teams, there's also the average teams of some regions.

Korea vs Czechia is interesting, Korea with the majority of chances.

S. Korea with a lot of great runs in tight spaces and excellent with their first touch. They’re dominating the middle of the field.

Czechia goalie with a lot of big saves. I’m getting the opportunist vibes…and they score.

Watching how fluid these formations are makes me jealous that Canada only run a 4 4 2. It’s beautiful watching S. Korea move once they have possession.

.... yes.

Especially when one of those top teams is Italy. Who wants to watch them lol

Canada was definitely more interesting under Herdman

Different soccer right now. Marsch has brought the energy and confidence but I think he lacks in strategy. He’s not maximizing the talent he has right now. Larin is not built for 4 4 2.

Canada is weak in the middle of the field, should be 5 guys floating around for support on the d end.

Canada is too banged up but I think top 16 was possible if healthy. Now I hope they can find their way to the knockout round.

Where's this thing being played? Haven't heard a peep about any of it the Midwest.

Jonathan David can do that. Same for Davies.

For sure. Davies doesn’t come from that spot though. I’ve lost hope in David. I just don’t get his play. Kone and bombito are my favourite players right now. I love Davies as a wingback though, not striker, him and bombito are high level talent guys.

Yeah, I meant in terms of technical abilities to do such moves.

Koné is a smooth guy, when he's on, he's incredible.

Goal Korea!

People still think this is the team led by Kevin McKenna getting blown out 8-0 by Honduras in qualifying.

We have many good players now. Not to mention we have players not even playing on the WC roster who can make touches like that all day. He even plays right in Toronto.

Today's game hurts.

Really really badly.

I haven't missed a Canadian Soccer game in Toronto in nearly 10 years.

Just couldn't justify the price.
