I think if Trouba walks everyone should be prepared for Gudas to come back
I’m actually ok with gudas on the bottom pair for 1 last season if it’s determined that he’s fully healthy ( if Trouba walks ) parayko/kesserling/murphy with Beeves… I assume lunuea has played big minutes already with the gulls and could handle the 2nd pair with minty?

I feel like this writer is one of those that's either really right about something or really wrong

A Montreal package would be interesting because it's a chance at some cheap talent at a time when our roster gets more expensive. Again it's interesting to me Hage did not turn pro and sign with Montreal, maybe Montreal is more willing to trade him if they're getting a feeling he isn't going to sign with them. And it frees up money to maybe get someone else who also helps now. 2 birds 1 stone

Larkin makes sense he only makes a little more than Mctavish and would give us our new version of Getzlaf and Kesler at center. Also using Zell or Minty in a trade like this makes sense. I've been saying it makes no sense to pay both when we have cheap guys ready to play

I’ll take hage as cutter 2.0 all day every day!

Theory. The beeker pulls off a big trade before he signs Leo/cutter to leverage to them 1. He’s trying to win now 2. To add and make big trades we need team friendly deals all around

Does that mean there's a possibility that we trade McTavish for him and he just walks as a free agent?

Also, what if he doesn't play next year? You're losing a roster player and will have to fill that spot.

Seems risky but idk how good Hage is.

All good points. Which leads me to believe the beeker wants larkin badly and hage is the fallback option. But he would never trade for hage without at very least a gentleman’s agreement with hage/gages agent

Hage is good enough that many were putting him right into Montreals lineup at the conclusion of the NCAA season..and then he didnt sign

So the feeling is hes ready to play in the league now yet strangely went back to school

You figure hage is a kid we have scouted and have a good feel for.

It’s risky…. But could be huge hit if he panned out.

Larkin makes sense to me if we’re just doing like mctavish + 2nd + zellweger or something
I would guess, that the larkin deal is what the beeker would rather get done.

But cutter really stepped up in the playoffs and showed he can defend well when he tries. He’s changed my view of him completely in that regard. Regular season cutter = 1 way offensive teemu player. Post season cutter was totally another level found. All this with a bum bsck too. I’m not sure the underlying numbers will super bsck that up. But at least from the eye test it did for me.
Cutter was great I agree. To me it has more to do with being a play driver vs a finisher. Elite play driving centers are the most valuable and hard to find thing in the league. Elite finishers are great but just don’t impact the overall game as much in my opinion.

Yes, and if Leo is willing to sign for 2nd-3rd round pick compensation then the Blues will have done the hard work for us.

The worry would never be losing Leo. The worry would be a team with tons of cap space and the picks to spend giving him 15 AAV or more because PV decides to play hardball.
