Speculation: 2026-27 Trade/FA thread/Roster Thread - Waiting for the SCF to be over….

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

He’ll be a UFA at the end of this season and they just gave up an absolute haul for him. My guess is it’ll be close to that value in reality.

Either way, it’s garbage and Verbeek has never done anything close to that bad.

Keep up the schtick though

Yeah whatever the extension price this is ugly. Byram is a decent player but not for a 4th overall pick plus a 2nd.

I'm not defending the Chicago trade but at least they got a 25 year-old top 4D and a big bodied forward who will both be around for awhile. Verbeek got exactly zippo for next year for Carlson. Why are you guys defending this other than just a primal tribal response to protect the leader?

Chicago has absolutely no leverage in the contract negotiation, either. I would say I'm sure they know what to expect in that negotiation, but that's probably giving them too much credit.
