He does have a plan. It's called Granlund until McQueen is ready. Mctavish isn't a center anyways.

Granlund as 2c works fine in the regular season (assuming he's not hurt). Not ideal in the playoffs when he's likely to be physically overpowered.

For people wondering if the 5th overall is in play there’s your hopium. I’d heard on a few hits they were trying to do something big and remember they’re doing a retool, not a rebuild. I’m a touch skeptical but who knows, I also don’t really buy in that Mac T’s value is overly low.

No way the 5th overall in play. I also don’t think Beeker would want Laff in return. Also, it’s very doubtful that we would break the bank for Fox. We also don’t need Trocheck when we already have Grandlund in that role.

It’s a bit worrisome if we are honing on the rangers out of the rumored options. We would likely get futures and role players similar to the Zegras trade.

My guess:
Schneider+Cuylle/Laba+late 1st or 2nd

None of those players would have high upside, and we have a been on a terrible run with our late first and early 2nd selections.

Finally, some rumors that make sense. Why would Beeker trade a 23 year old to add another small 5’10, 33 year old who isn’t particularly fast. Don’t get me wrong, Granlund and Trocheck are still good players but for how much longer? They are good support players for playoff teams, we need players that potentially be leads.

That’s actually really interesting because with their back to back late firsts and RFA defensemen those made for very comparable packages, if it’s another team then it really blows it wide open.
