Speculation: 2026-27 Trade/FA thread/Roster Thread - Waiting for the SCF to be over….

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
You're right, I did miss another conditional 1st. That's fine. Throw that in too.

Lupul was as much a prospect as Mintyukov is. Those two are the equivalents in my proposal, but if you want to include McTavish instead of McQueen as the Lupul analog, I'm fine with that. In which case, Mintyukov is FAR further along than Smid was, so I don't think there would be a reason to include an extra asset if both McTavish and Mintyukov were heading to Columbus in that deal.

The whole proposal is contingent upon Werenski being willing to come to Anaheim, so I figured that's a given in this. If he's not, then there's no point in even considering it.
Werenski and Beevis are best friends? One can dream

Not putting much stock in an article that describes the senators as having "a roster viewed as a potential Stanley Cup contender"
MacT+warren for pinto who says no? Parayko and Carlo in seperate deals that will include zell… I’m of the mind that Moore is a forward for the ducks now. Parayko/carlo/luneau
I actually liked/prefer Moore on defense. He played forward because he was the only Dman that could (Zell was not effective).

We should also consider that Trouba may return after July 1. He stated in prior interviews that this is his first time as a UFA and he appeared eager to explore the process. I think PV will have a "last look" to see if he will offer him a competitive contract.

Perhaps Trouba gets offers from teams in less than desirable markets for his family? It is not always about the highest bidder.

If Trouba returns then we have one less hole on RHD to worry about.
I've predicted all along that he'll return. Not guaranteed, but it seems to make too much sense for both sides to reach a reasonable deal after Trouba checks out the market.

There are legit nlh “insiders “ that follow that account.

I’m not worrying about signings. It will get done.

I’m also not worrying about not acquiring the big name older Dmen that are available.

I hope Verbeek builds a lasting contender.

On paper it is almost impossible to imagine Vegas not having a cup dynasty. But they don’t have much home grown talent. They poach whatever they can and it has become merely a money team.

Other than Kyrou they seem real intent on dangling their top talent in rumors then backing off. Would think they would want to use any of those picks on something better if at all but who knows with Armstrong
They have a lot of wingers, blues issue is they dont exactly have centers.

Thomas and then you have guys like Dvorsky/McMichael, who might not be long term center options. They have 4 firsts..... i assume getting a 2c behind Thomas would be appealing to them. The forward group in St Louis actually look more like a group that McTavish would do well with. If they arnt trading guys like Parayko/binnington i assume they are looking more to compete now.

Depends on how expensive they want to get with it. Wright would be cheaper than McT and Larkin and keeps them flexible but yeah if they want more proven it'll cost more. I'm sure if they haven't already they would have at least a conversation on what a deal involving McT looks like without a Thomas/Parayko

Well. I'm of two minds about it. On one hand, overpaying for a 33 year-old is generally not what I would want to do. So it's good that he isn't available. OTOH, it's really beginning to look like RD will remain a big weakness next year and there aren't many options out there to improve it. The possibility that the team won't have enough depth and talent to make the playoffs has to be a serious consideration. And missing the playoffs would be a serious fail for verbeek and only further call into question several of his moves over the past few months.
