Speculation: 2026-27 Trade/FA thread/Roster Thread - Waiting for the SCF to be over….

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Trouba will be missed if we can't replace him. I don't think he will be too, too hard to replace, though.

I'm a little surprised that you aren't more indifferent, considering he wasn't all that physical here.
Trouba benefited by not sacrificing himself as much with physical play and really took advantage when he got to play with an ascending Lacombe. I think he is very replaceable but the longer we wait the more we will have to need overpay.

It currently doesn't look like Verbeek thinks there is an available long-term solution that is worth it... we can expect temporary solutions that are not ideal.

He already is slow. Those guys tend to age better because they've already figured out how to be successful without elite athleticism.

Robertson has great hands if he will hang around the net like Perry does. Problem is he is a softy, who will probably be even less excited about going to the tough areas when he has a $11 mil. X 8 contract signed.

Finally, some optimism! The beeker shall prevail!
No, actually I fear that the price he's going to pay will make me sick to my stomach but I know there is no intention in the front office for them to take a step back this coming year. They'll spend in assets what needs to be spent to nab another playoff spot.

I know its not what we want but wondering if anaheim is getting pushed into a take a step back to take 2 forward situation i dont want to see desperation moves for RHD that can trap the team. We are going to know soon
I have wondered if it's worth approaching this upcoming year with a playoffs or fail attitude. There was some good and bad luck last year that made it not necessarily the most reliable vehicle to making the playoffs. And the entire right side is getting reset. To cut @tomd some slack reading for Carlson and failing to retain any established talent on the right is a tough tandem of events. The Ducks must either spend meaningfully to acquire talent or accept the risk of relying on a right with a more established but still young LD trio.

Beyond that it seems like there is a strong desire to move Mac out, I think largely for political reasons than performance. Verbeek seems to be drawing a line in the sand, his RFAs sign before camp or they get shown the door. Many packages may result in less talent now in lieu of futures.

Perhaps aiming for what will make the team strongest 2 or 3 years from now rather than trying to boil the right side of the ocean in one summer is the proper approach.
