The goal record in WJC is 7 with 7 games played done by Juha Jyrkkiö in 1977 for a defensemen. Point record is 14 done in 1985 by Peter Andersson, as you mention, also 7 games played.

If Sweden can go far and get goals/points against lower competition both records could get broken with how ASP is being utilized and the minuets he gets.

Think we might see the return of a 2 dman pp unit when he joins the Wings because of this. He plays more of a rover/ slot role. I think we might eventually see an Ed-ASP pairing on the 1 PP.

I never "HATED" the pick. I expressed my concerns about his size and defensive play in his draft year. I've talked him up since watching him more in Skelleftea last season and a little bit this year.

I love the offensive upside and how well he can control the game from the backend, and I appreciate how much better ASP has become defensively. He still makes me worried about how he'll handle physical play in the NHL and whether or not he'll become Adam Fox, Shayne Gostisbehere or Adam Boqvist. I think those are legit concerns.

Not worried about ASP's defense. He competes and is pretty strong for his size. With Mo and Ed the Wings have the defensive foundation in place, there's plenty of room for a guy who is primarily an offensive weapon. Don't see any reason ASP can't have an immediate offensive impact similar to Hutson or Zellweger. If he does that, you can live with a few defensive issues.

Finnish hockey is cooked and it isn't going to get any better unless they make major changes to their developmental system. Finnish players always have heart, but the talent gap is bigger then ever. This tournament is all USA, Canada, and Sweden.
