That hit from the goalpost looked like it was right on the clavicle. If that's the only damage, he'll be fine, with or without surgery. OTOH, if the shoulder ended up injured in some way that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

Looks like Canada plans to scratch Martone and dress Rehkopf.

The projected roster has Cowan, Pinelli, Howe and Gauthier on RW now - Sennecke is clearly better than all four, what a joke. Beaudoin, McKenna, Nadeau and Cataford on the left - only McKenna has stood out. Just terrible selection decisions. The whole advantage of being supposedly deeper with talent, is being able to roll three first lines. Canada left so much talent home trying to find "balance" that they barely have one first line.

Misa - Sennecke should be two thirds of a scoring line for this team and they didn't even get camp invites initially. These idiots are too busy covering up scandals to even watch hockey apparently.

It's a shame, really. You could probably pair Misa and Sennecke with whatever local goon you can find and still have a line that outplays 90% of all other lines in this tournament, because they have two standout players with lots of speed and grit as well as skill and one guy who just goes into the dirty areas to get shit done.

Hockey Canada has become an absolute clown show, unfortunately.

Were'nt the analysts (like The Athletic) or whatever you call them, having close or similar rosters that were actually picked?

Seems there are a lot of offensive talent left out not only Sennecke, but I think many "prognosed" it. Am I halucinating?

Somebody on the main boards nailed it - picking a team for chemistry only really works in the Olympics when your “fourth line grinder” guys are still top 6 NHL players.

Not only that, but even the most polished defensive junior is really not all that polished defensively. So you're trading off a lot of offense, for minimal defensive gain.

It's one thing if you're a country that doesn't have depth of skill. Then sure, pick the grinding role player over a mediocre skill guy. But Canada could ice 4 legit scoring lines, and SOME of those guys can also grind.

Terrance is a really curious case. He has all of the quick twitch talent to make it to the NHL but his numbers are unimpressive in juniors. Will be interesting to see him next year in SD

Otters fans were raving about how he's made great strides in the smaller details aspect of his game. You can definitely see it watching him live, he's always supporting the play and on the right side of the puck. The mindset and tools should lend really well to a bottom six role but he's clearly not devoid of skill either. Seemed like he just got off to a really slow start statistically before getting hot, but also centers his "own line" rather than playing on their big line.

Latvia with the big 4-3 OT win over Germany, securing a spot in a QF with a round robin game remaining tomorrow against Finland.

Germany will be playing in the relegation game Thursday, against whoever loses tomorrow's final round robin matchup between Switzerland and Kazakhstan.

I just grabbed seats for the relegation game as they were going for next to nothing

That Latvia-Germany game was so draining to watch for me  Germans played really well

Uljanskis has some good moments but also needs to work on a lot. Which should be fine for where he was picked.
