Sure if you're only looking at the Moore pick in a vacuum, it can be viewed as not so good (especially with the trade up attempts).

But we went for ceiling with Kantserov, Rinzel, Boisvert even, so we can't generalize the FO's MO really.

I'm sure Moore btw was also looked at as a higher ceiling guy. He has tools you can't teach, but also apparently not the hands or IQ unfortunately.

But he could be on a Brandon Hagel like trajectory too. He has spend and compete those things will always be welcome on a contending team. I'm fine if he's our 3W of the future so long those other guys above fill out higher spots.

Wanted Perreault.
That's the thing--it's not like it was Moore or some shadowy unknown from Turkmenistan. Perreault was right there and plenty of information was available on him, plenty of folks on here mentioned him as an ideal pick yet the pick always has to be speed, speed, speed.

Maybe it's just me but Perrault hasn't exactly inspired any prospect envy in me with his play in this WJC. He's getting dangerous touches playing with elite talent but that's not the question with him and never has been. Felt like he struggled with wasted possession while trying to assert himself against Latvia

The top 50 NHL scorers or bust types are always kind of what they are. Perreault had a zillion points at the USNTDP and still "only" went 23rd, so you figure there are reasons for that, I'm not so sure those "reasons" have disappeared and probably won't have a great sense until he starts playing Pro. If he gets to the NHL and he's putting up 90 points, yeah a lot of teams will have some egg on their face.

Nice work there by Moore's line. Olli with the 2nd assist.

Odd choice that Stiga was scratched the first game. I think it's pretty clear that Plante and Willis are the 13th/14th forwards on this squad.

Yup..great hockey game...Finland wins in OT..Finland goalie robs Dany Nelson....then Hutson shows you why hevisxso high risk...geysccaughtvdeeo and falls down trying to keep pucknin...leading to 2 on1 thevotger way and Urhonen beats Augustin..
Anyway ..this game Perrault failed on 3 break-aways and Moore failed on only 1 break-awy..

Finland guys missed on 2 open nets with Augustine out of position...one of these USA got lucky.. the shot in close hit Hagens' foot .. . Lots of scoring chances for both teams ,but a lot of misses..

On the whole Finland played better than USA and deserved to win in my opinion..

Back to Moore...skating great..but no hands..no shot..no finish ..just not what to draft for a first rounder..A pk guy ..but had a couple of faikedcto clear it outs..and on key defensiveczobe draws hecwas average winingvsine losing some
. Not that rekiablecC you need to win d-zobe draws..IF he makes it it willbe as a 4C/PK guy..
Credit.. hiscforecheck got the puck to astigmatism who passed it out to Zimmer fir ISA 3rd goal...but again you do not waste first rounders on 4th line forechecker and pk ceilings..I just do not see upside with hislack of elite passisg or finishing.
Maybe he can be more physical..but dod not see much of that from homtoday either.

I do not see the I want that puck and I will score mentality
.He isxa very fast skater but the puck skills and hovkey sense just seem MIA too much .
Anyway NOT excited about him at all.

I know the hawks are playing right now, but this Canada/Germany game is worth putting on
