Is he a nightmare or just in a lack of care defensively like his brother? Because that's the makeup you can't live with in a top 4 dman if you want to be a contender.
The narratives around Lane Hutson are overblown. He’s at least as adept defensively as KK rn that’s for sure, and is in a whole other stratosphere otherwise

Like Cogs or like any other really fast, play hard wingers that can't produce.
Watching Moore on the same team as Perreault makes me want to vomit. Perreault might think the game better than Bedard, just need to see if the physical tools translate.

That move that Perreault makes on the left half wall on the power play where he curls, stick handles likes a dozen times, fakes the shot and zips a dime to Hagens all in one motion so elite

Hutson is incredibly gifted he's just tiny. KK is huge in comparison with great wheels.
Yea he really is small but hes very competitive and frankly no one thought he'd be this good already at this stage. I mean at this time last year people on the Hawks board were saying Hutson would go nowhere in the NHL anytime soon with his habits (I remember cuz I was defending him). If Jared Spurgeon can be one of the better 2 way dmen of this decade I think Hutson can at least hold his own.

KK has good tools and certainly a long way to develop but they were drafted in the same year with KK seen as closer to the NHL and as of right now KK might be lucky to ever produce as well as Hutson is currently.

Talent was never the question but isn't he like 165? He's a bad Rempe hit from being out of hockey.

Was a nice goal. Was it supposed to prove that his hands were special? A pull-back drag around a defender? It's not like I'm shitting on Bolland. If you were ranking his skills, his hands and skating would be graded as probably NHL average. He wasn't out there regularly dangling guys, manipulating players or overly-handling the puck.
Relax. Your comment just reminded me of this goal. I don’t disagree with you regarding his hands. It’s not that deep.

Well the Rangers are a train wreck. Maybe he’ll refuse to sign there and want to be in Chicago. Doesn’t his dad work for us?

Besides, by my count, we’re still owed one after Kevin Hayes refused to sign here.

Height be damned... James Hagens is legit. I would love for the Hawks to get him. What is underrated about him is the kid has legit bite to his game.
Hagens is a Patrick Kane/Jack Hughes crazy gifted smaller American forward who definitely is good enough to be a first overall. There were people that legitimately wanted Kyle freaking Turris over Kane, and Ranger fans cheered like idiots at their draft watch when the Devils didn't select Kaapo freaking Kakko. The small thing seems to scare people.

I wouldn't consider Eichel to be small...

Total food for thought but who here would be happy drafting an elite bottom six guy at 19? I have mixed feelings.
Anything after where like Clayton Keller or Berkly Catton get drafted, you're realistically shooting for a depth guy. Just the way drafts go unless the draft ends up being crazy stacked and deep with talent, which happens once a decade or so. Hawks already have a Bedard as SkillGuy1, so yeah they need SkillGuy2 and you want to take cracks at it of course, in Hawks case, good chance it's gonna come from a high pick again, but with a few bites at the apple across the system, and you need a lot of depth guys across the board as well whether they're playing a complementary role on a top line or a downstream line.
