I can't believe a one-dimensional scorer who didn't produce at camp was cut. That's so shocking.

Yeah cause Canada took some weird picks. And not like the books have ever been that sharp on weird hockey stuff. I took them to the cleaners for months on NCAA hockey.
Yeah Canada still has much more talent than the US does. If I had to guess, they smoke everyone this tournament.

Terrible review by the refs...clearly goalie interference..Hutsin's leg dragged and spun the German goalie...so any idiot would have have waived off Hagens' goal ...and U.S.A. gets PP on top of that cause Germany lost challenge..I know interference on the goalie when I see it in slo mo very very clearly...Refs blew it.

That's me in the corner
Hagens has absolutely sick hands.
Could be useful next to Bedard, or maybe carrying the second line behind Bedard. It just feels like this kid is going to be on the board when the Hawks pick one way or another, and I hope the dumb size argument doesn’t lead to the Hawks passing.

I agree. Although with Nazar, Bedard, Kantserov trending as our best forward prospects it’s kind of a hard pill to swallow drafting another small forward but Hagens seems like a sure fire top line C one day

Trade Nazar and/or Kantserov for players with size, if needed. Hagens is more skilled than them. There’s no reason for Davidson to draft a lesser skilled player at the top of the draft just because he’s bigger right now.

Look no further than the Lightning to see an example of two “small” players being able to lead a forward group.

Yeap yeap yeap....get as many of the bestest players and once hopefully 2 or even better 3 become elite level star type players, you can sort through what you need to complement them through trade and free agency if you don't have the pieces coming from the prospect pool. If as an example Haegens hits his projections and is a 1st line type player and you take the "bigger" Misa or Martone that only top out as middle 6 type players, that would be a big misstep. I think at this point it is hard to differentiate between any of Hagens, Misa, Martone, or Schaefer and we'll see how the rest of this season plays out. My hope is that the Hawks end up with one of the 4 and if they had the chance to pick any that they end up with the best guy which we won't really know for 2 or 3 seasons.

Or just keep the smaller players because they’re all more talented than any big plugs you’ll trade them for.

Anyone speaking of trading young talent at this point is beyond sense.

Hagens is a shrimp
..we already have lots of these types.

He is playing g with 2 studs on a packed line...Can he drive a line with more shrimps ..You are not even putting him with Bedard...that would 2Cs in a shrimp disaster. With neither able to win draws.

He is good but I do not think drives lines like Jack Hughes did and does.
Hagens benefitting with 2 studs like Perrault and Leonard as his wings..

Also notcsure hevis any goidcon draws.

Hawks do not need another shrmpy C with some concerns he single handedly might not drive a line.
USA out shot Germany 56-22 so quite lopsided competition wise..That they gave up 4 goals to a no star Germany team is something Carle will not be happy with.

Now...you score 10 goals and our hyped first rounder Hawks were over the moon with at his draft,Oliver Moore, got Zero points and Zero difference at Evens(0 in+/-)...he did get 4 shotsvon goal..but where is his finish? And of course he hit the post on his last shot attempts in the final minute of the game (he has posted disease like so many current Blackhawks players also have).

He just seems like "just another guy" drspitectyecspeed...maybe a 4C and pk guy IG he makes it.Hood speed but very little results and often he gets caught deep...has to hustle back then that tires him so fresher legs on the ops can zip around hom.

I just do not see how he is going to help us.

The hype our brass had after he "fell" to us maybe just that...over-enthusiastic hype...he should have developed to more dominance by now..but I see nothing that gives me confidence he is that important to the Hawks future...
You do not waste a pick as high as we draftexd him on a mere 4th liner checker and pk guy..He just does not look like a big contributor to offensive production.

Very disappointing.

And even if he had scored on that last shot attempt,I still do not think he had any sort of impressive game at all.

I’ve said Moore wasn’t my pick plenty of times but based on what I’ve seen so far this year and last, he should go back for another year.
Both Moore & Rinzel need to go back for another year of College . Moore to grow his offence and Rinzel is still way too thin for his height and needs to manage the puck better in his own end of the ice . Nazar is showing he isn't close to ready yet .
