Idk but they seem to trade recently signed or re-signed players all the time. I would be wary of that club as a player. Absolute pig shit of a franchise.

They are getting some help from the LTIR. I fully expect the LTIR loophole to be shutdown during the next CBA

At this point I just want to see some movement for developments sake, and can care less about playoffs. Verbeek needs to make some moves.

-Gibson, Lundy for Kotkaniemi, Kochetkov. Maybe get bigger and better on faceoffs. Players seem to play harder for Dostal.
-Fabbri (50%) for 4rth
-Leason for Kane. Why not? We have money and oilers want to cap space. Try him with finesse guys like Terry/Leo
-Dumoulin for Ostapchuk, or similar type of center who can win faceoffs be physical
-Waiver: Middleton, or physical player who can play both sides. Give bigger minutes and hopefully restore Mintys confidence because he’s been trash. Find a cheap depth guy who is found via waivers all the time like Kovacevich, Pachal, Englund, etc.

I think if Carolina is serious about moving him 6 weeks after getting him - trading him to someone in the East is asinine, especially to a legit contender like Toronto or Florida.

Not to mention that a trade involving Rantanen has to, I would think, involve NHL player(s) going back and I’m just not sure how many Cup contenders want to do that.

I continue to believe that a trade with an extension is the most likely scenario outside of him being dealt as a rental somewhere out west. Dallas and Vegas come to mind, Edmonton too.
