Seriously, I would have more faith in a website called "@BobRossColton's Stinky Circle Says"

Bob, I hope you know that was not a ding just a poor attempt at a funny. Not sure if you knew or remembed but Eklund actually used to charge people for reading him pull shit out of his all day long. It was so bad his named actually got black listed and would appear as ******* on this site for quite some time. Kind of like if we wanted to talk about the weapon from Star Wars we'd have to put it in quotation marks otherwise the moderator from Buffalo would autocorrect our sorry asses thinking we were making fun of his team.

Maybe not the best way to go but kinda wanna just keep team the way it is unless theres more a mitts for a non rental trade. Nelson is only guy i think that can be a huge help and is gonna cost a ton. Maybe nuke stays healthy and helps mitts find his game. Just dont think any rumored guy out there will put us over the top so would hate to mortgage lots of future for a rental. Save ammo and make a deal in offseason and go all in for next year

The Avs are mostly healthy and have a great shot at it this year. Not going all in this year would be a regrettable mistake.

Why waste a year?

We'll see what side of the fence it lands on, but CMac is either going to come up short and the retention on Lindgren was pointless, or we overpay for a rental. I don't think there's an in-between and I also don't think there's a right or wrong answer, but either way I don't think people here will be happy.

Just one of those years where every team looks and believes they have a chance to win a cup, as opposed to some years where there's a clear 3-4 favorites.

The worst outcome would be if he keeps bullets in the chamber and doesn't give it the best possible shot. That would be much worse than overpaying because it would always leave a feeling of "what if" in hindsight.

I agree, but I wouldn't be surprised if the overpayment is for a pretty average player like Laughton.

At the same time, having some bullets in the chamber allows them to potentially upgrade the 2C spot. Far more possibilities in the offseason than now.
The AVS will have virtually the exact same time next season as well. So they need to max out both runs.

There’s no right answer IMO.

For the cost, he doesn’t help us win a Cup this year or probably even next season.

He’s a player who has a lot of development left ahead of him. Takes way too many risks and has way too many controller disconnect situations defensively.

The Kings are open to moving him for more help to compete now. That should tell you where he is in terms of his development.
They’ve also traded away Brock Faber, Sean Durzi and Sean Walker just to name a few…

Clarkes advanced stats are quite good.

Why waste a year?
It depends on how look at wasting a year. For a team that won a cup recently, its stanley cup or bust. So trades or no trades, its a wasted year without a cup. If you move our best assets for a player that isnt gonna put us over the top and leaves at end of year, it increases chance of wasting several years. Just so many more options in the offseason instead of pushing all in on a few players that will cost way too much because of position scarcity. This team has been way too inconsistent to feel like they have a great shot this year

I have no doubt that Cmac will make the wrong move(s). That’s about the only thing we can count on.
We can definitely count on you to have the most negative take possible on whatever moves/non-moves we do. I'd put money on it

As reliable as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west

This. He'll shy away from a solid move with a higher price tag, and will get some random ass 4th liner, that he'll over pay for anyways.

Then he'll give us some lip service, prices were too high and we really liked our team etc. and in reality it will really boil down to him not forking over assets to give 29 and 8 a real shot.
