Zero chance cMac has the cojones to win that bidding war.

I know Cmac really didnt see Necas as a center acquisition either but given Mitts struggles it seems just stubborn for Beds not to try Necas there especially given his pechant for the blender.

Even someone stubborn would at least try it in practice. Or maybe he is relying on the endless tape of Necas at C in Carolina... oh wait. So he is basically relying on the assessments of the Carolina coaching staff that it just wont work.

Assuming its something that Cmac wanted tried but he cant force Bednar how many players would Cmac have to trade to force him to try it? Just Mitts or maybe Drury, Colton and Kelly so he wouldnt have any other options? I guess I have just become really cynical when it comes to Bednars player usage.

Can’t believe the oilers haven’t done anything yet. Goaltending, defence, scoring depth - they could use it all. They haven’t replaced Holloway or Broberg. Will be interesting to keep an eye on them. Sure glad we’ve been proactive, sellers are few and far, not many good names rumoured, and time is running out

Nelson is the top center "available" this TDL.

I don't believe Vegas truly targets him given they have Eichel/Hertl/Karlsson down the middle.

I also can't see Toronto targeting him to slap him on the 3rd line behind Matthews/Tavares unless they want to shift Tavares to LW.

Dallas and Winnipeg are the teams we're competing with IMO. Stars need a Seguin replacement - Granlund ain't it - while Winnipeg is just like us - always missing a 2C behind Scheifele.

Gut feeling says Dallas. But NYI could do really well if they get the three divison opponents competing against themselves.

Would really love if we could make a Mitts+2026 first+2025 second+Ritchie for Horvat.

Horvat is an unbelievable skater by all metrics, is great at face offs, fits the core age of our team and on a second line would likely thrive.
Horvat is probably one of the only #2C in the league that I could see the Avs including Ritchie for.

Otherwise, I think he stays with the Avs.

You get Horvat you solve the #2C position for like 5 years.

OutIn
Broberg (22yo) - $4.6M, 21pts
Foegele (28yo) - $3.5M, 32pts
Holloway (23yo) - $2.3M, 46pts
Arvidsson (31yo) - $4.0M, 19pts, NMC
Henrique (35yo) - $3.0M, 17pcs, NMC
Skinner (32yo) - $3.0M, 21pts, NMC

I'm shocked Edmonton is struggling this year.

Nelson also has a 16-team NTC. There's a good chance Winnipeg is on it. Now, he could waive knowing they have a legit shot at a Cup, and he'll only have to be there for upwards of 3½ months. Sounds like Winnipeg is willing to send Perfetti out to bring in an upgrade at 2C.

And also McLeod. That team lost all of their young depth and replaced them with aging crap. Like, how does Arvidsson only have 19 points while playing heavy minutes with the likely league MVP?

Nelson is definitely the best possible option out there, assuming that one guy from Cole Harbour isn't available.

There has been some talk, that they are unsure what happens with Kane and have thus not been really able to commit to any trades yet. There is not an insignificant chance that he'll be able to play before the regular season is over, and if that's the case they need to keep some cap space open for him.
