Marchand for a conditional 1st sort of upsets me after seeing us acquire Coyle. Would have much rather had the rat.

No

The center was more important. We got Condor for the feels, and they're bigger feels than the rat brings.

I'd have liked him too, but the option to push Drury down if he doesn't continue to produce at 3C is important.

I do think there is a good chance Coyle plays RW to start.

Which doesn't really surprise me. No offence to you guys, even Denver is not like a top destination for a WAG in the NHL I would assume, but compared to Raleigh it probably feels like New York.
Actually, for a very long time Raleigh and the research triangle therein was the fastest growing area in the USA. It is not bad. It did grow very rapidly has quality housing issues, but that is not a poblem for an NHL player.

The fact is, the area is extremely nice. I mean if UFA players are waiving off a home in the outer-banks? That's on them. If players can't see the beauty in a place like North Carolins, Ohio, Colorado, Utah... seriously... f*** 'em all, every single last one of them.

I'm just watching/listening a lot of the shows after the fact, and it really is unfortunate that Rantanen had such a f***ing :eek::eek::eek: of an agent. Basically Friedman saying that the Avs would've got Rantanen done at 12 per, their final offer was 11.75 but it was not "final final" obviously. But back then the agent still dreamed of 14M so they traded him because they were never going to get to 13+ which the agent wanted. And then when the Dallas deal was starting to fall through, Mikko basically personally intervened and told the agent to stop f***ing around and take the deal.

Until you've lived there and do have to worry about jackasses everywhere you go.

There is a lot to be said for smaller city life. It's a f***ing shame you'll never get that feeling though.

No Val on the list. Probably still our second most important forward as long as he's, ahem, healthy
He's there...he's third.

Also, --> is an arrow and doesn't mean "greater than" here. Sorry if some people got confused. I didn't make this list to say 2022 was better, I was myself curious to compare both teams and decided to share it.

I’m not sure what’s the point of this.
Now you know.

I’ve lived all over Indiana south east Indy, steel city, Anderson, Kokomo, Youngstown, Ohio… Everyone was strung out on oxy and lortab and Xanax. Maybe I just didn’t go to any of the areas that were nice

Dude.. Raleigh is not close enough to the beach to have that as an option lol.

They did legit pick the worst spot to put that team in the Carolinas.

It's industrial. Not really a traditional city or even vacation destination. It's basically Edmonton or Calgary of the US except it's hot as f*** instead of cold as f*** certain times of the year.

I was stationed in Bragg for five years, I'm very familiar with the Carolinas.

If I was that Owner I'd be moving to Charlotte or Wilmington lol. The fact that Raleigh has a hockey team is hilarious. Least interesting part of Carolina by far.

Listening to the CMac presser, he was talking about the center depth and said how solid they are now with MacK, Brock, Coyle... said Drury has been really good for them... Kelly has carved himself a role, and that Colton can slide into the middle as well.

Despite us wanting to perhaps see a 3rd line of Colton-Drury-Coyle, I tend to believe his idea is Coyle at 3C and Drury at 4C.

Of course, what CMac thinks versus what Bednar does are usually two polar opposite directions.

Option 1(what CMac is suggesting):

Colton - Coyle - Kiviranta
Kelly - Drury - O'Connor
Wood/Vesey

Option 2(what we would seem to prefer):

Colton - Drury - Coyle
Kiviranta - Kelly - O'Connor
Wood/Vesey

Now, while I think CMac may prefer option 1, Bednar might prefer option 2 especially since he has such trust in Drury and it keeps his beloved KKOC unit together on the 4th line.

We'll find out during the gameday skate tomorrow before the Leaf game.

At least, I *THINK* we'll find out. Leafs game is a 5 PM MST start, so that gameday skate will have to be pretty damn early if it happens. Players still need their nap and pre-game meal routine.

It really is. I was living two hours south of Raleigh, driving an hour an half a north, so I wouldn't have to put up with the f***ing traffic getting out of Raleigh and trying to head south to the Shearan Harris power plant. Most folks found it more convienent to live on the Raleigh side. And most everyone that had been at the place for 10 years had their vacation houses already and most of them where on the banks.

I hadn't built up enough to get a vacation home while I was there, but honestly... mine would have been to the west in the Ashville region if given the chance. I like the banks, but it's so populated I would never want a home there. Get me to the mountains, get me to an uninhabited salty piece of land and I'll be happy. But if you throw too many people into the mix, I sour very suddenly. We actually had a guy at the power plant that had his home in Ashville. He commuted and stayed in a shit-hole $35/night hotel while on shift. Peoples are peoples.
