Not to dunk on these kids but has hockey Canada produced a superstar forward since the 2015 draft? Bédard and Celebrini look good but all of the stars who will play at the 4 nations have been in the league 10 years plus, which is shocking. Compare that to the dominant 2010 Olympic team which had Crosby, Toews, Getzlaf, Perry, Richards, Bergeron, Weber and Doughty as under 25 y/o players. Hockey Canada needs a serious overhaul especially in player development.
A lot of guys just didn't live up to hype.

Patrick - Injuries
Lafreniere - seems to be trending to a 2nd line winger type
Byfield - not looking like a superstar
Dach, PLD, Hayton, etc.

Think it was just a down era, cause now we have Bedard/Celebrini who look to be sure fire, then Martone/Misa/McKenna coming up

Meanwhile, Hockey Canada held none! 🇨🇦

I was thinking maybe the Hockey Canada 'brain' trust all caught COVID and have had brain fog the last few years.

"well with hindsight". No. At minimum tens of thousands of people saw exactly this coming and pointed it out before the first pre-tournament game had been played.

Just a different perspective. There are the kids that were 15 and 16 during the lockdowns. Perhaps that had an impact of their overall skill and ability result.

This only has legs if Canada managed these players different than other countries.
It was a mix of roster selection but mostly coaching. I've never seen any of these players from the whl struggle this much for this long to create offense.

Not sure how Catton wasn't one of them but would say those 3 were in the top 5 for sure

So it looks like:

Peter Anholt - General Manager U20
Scott Salmond - SVP of Hockey Operations

Brent Seabrook - U20 Management Team
Benoit Roy - Director of Hockey Operations
Al Murray - Main Head Scout U20
Dave Cameron - Head Coach

All need to be let go.

Every single one of them is responsible for putting this team together.

Not a single dissenting voice in the room asking "Hey... maybe we should at least invite these skilled players to training camp to see how they look?"

Time to clean house and go with a management team with much smaller egos, who don't think they're so much smarter than everyone else.
Bumping this.

Bolded the people who allegedly had the most influence.

As a Sens fan I can't help but notice the "responsible" RD defenseman they picked instead of Yakemchuk happen to give away a goal in the first 30s of an elimination game as well as take a dumb penalty in the last minutes of the same game which ended up being the GWG
Should have nowhere near this team. Andrew Gibson sucks. Have said it since his draft year.

It would have been better if they had just named one.

I'm meeting with HR on Monday - I've already got the job. We're getting together to discuss salary, vacation and the size of apartment they will pay for.
You'll get lifelong tenure if you incorporate the phrases "play the game the right way" "get pucks on net" "play above the puck" and "can't control the players."

I'm a modest man and not someone who lives beyond my means. I hope they don't feel this is too much to ask for...

Bob McKenzie claiming to criticise the roster selection as hindsight... that's absurd. Plenty of people looked at the roster and wondered if they would have trouble scoring.

Had they lost a bunch of high scoring games, sure, then they could have claimed it was only clear in hindsight. But that didn't happen.
Hindsight. Steve Staios took the unusual step of an NHL executive criticizing Hockey Canada for the selection camp.

Bob has to stay tight to the guys that feed him info.
