McKenna pulled an OV on that 3rd goal - he quit on the play. A little effort and there is no goal.Sorry, you’re a good poster here normally, but in a 3v2 the forward is supposed to take the trailer; the problem there is he didn’t commit to taking the trailer, he got caught in no man’s land. It’s Bonk’s job there to cut off the pass and let George set to the shooter, not for McKenna to follow the man. Dickinson is the real issue, low chance pinching with 10 secs left in the period
This is 100% TRUE. Something we can ALL agree on.What an unlikeable team to watch
You are an awesome poster, MF, better than me, but the players everyone loved have NOT been producing - while the players posters disliked have come thru. Let's hope the top lines can make a difference in the 3rd.Sorry, you’re a good poster here normally, but in a 3v2 the forward is supposed to take the trailer; the problem there is he didn’t commit to taking the trailer, he got caught in no man’s land. To my eyes, Canada has looked small compared to ALL the other teams. We cannot get to the net. I'd prefer more size and grit. The thing with this tournament now is that you need extraordinary talent to win it.
You can’t dump and chase your way to a gold like Canada did repeatedly in the 1990s, as other countries have caught up on size and skill. No issue with bringing a 2-3 bottom-6 types that are best-in-class on the PK, defensively, on the faceoff dot, or bring unique physicality, but at least 3 lines of the forward group absolutely need to be high-skilled players that can create offensively and finish. Build the team, practice, practice, practice - build chemistry at ES and on the PP.
On D, one or two bruisers that can clear the front of the net…someone like Gibson is fine in a depth role but shouldn’t be first pairing. Select 2 pairs of D that can move the puck quickly through skating and/or passing skill, can force the puck deep, and has the skating skill to get back.
The game has evolved. A coach like Cameron hasn’t evolved with it. Huge mistake by HC bringing him in this year. I’ll say that even if Canada comes back to win tonight.
I root for good hockey of which we've seen the most of from other teams and for 1.25 periods tonight with Canada vs Czechia.Gibson and his STUPID mustache cannot take that penalty. You KNOW they are calling everything. How do you make that hit?
An entire tournament of poor plays, poor execution and poor coaching.
As others have said, the LEAST likable Team Canada I have seen in my life - who do you root for?
Oh well... Life goes on. I hope either Czechia or Sweden win.
