  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
If Clarke is sent packing for an overpaid rental and we win the cup I won’t say a word.
Don’t worry. Blake has it covered. Where has he been lately. Don’t see much media on him or any management over the past year. Or have I missed them?

Just fire the whole lot. Keep Yannetti and let him do his thing with a proper rebuild.

Welcome to la, only pressure is to show a profit, everything else is secondary and no change will be done by ownership . Love to have Futa come back and get he and Yannetti back together

I just learned that Gavrikov’s agent is Pat Brisson. This team is absolutely screwed for awhile.

8x8 inc!

Couldn't go one season without, you know

really though he'd get 7x7 on the open market easy, especially vs. comparables AND the increasing cap, people are gonna have to get used to the idea of that. 6.5 would be a bargain.

Wow I am even bummed to see that happen. Why cant this front office be realistic on the team they built and trade him and use that money on a forward, justice they should have done with that Edmundson money. Man these guys have to get out of the 90s

The front office failed the team by shorting the organization with a compliment of at least 12 NHL forwards. Inexcusable.

In 21 months:
Forwards jettisoned / left:

8: Vilardi, Iafallo, Kupari, PLD, Grundstrom, Lizotte, Arvidsson, Kaliyev. 9, counting JAD waived.

Incoming from outside organization forwards last 21 months:
3: Foegele, Jeannot, Lewis

NET -5

Yes, we have all wanted AHL graduates that can play:
Laferriere, Turcotte. But, Helenius, Lee, Thomas should not have been counted to play a role this season.
Studnicka? Not sure to even count him. Count him and they're still short.

Management failed and kind of handcuffed Hiller into icing 10-11 NHL forwards each night.
God forbid you have any injuries. And, Lewis and Jeannot are honestly not as good as 6 on the departed
list. Kupari was never an earthshaker...but man, would he be great about now, on line 4.

So? The Kings are floundering and staying in 3rd, only because Vancouver is floundering...yet jst beat the Kings. And it seems like the trade target types of: Evans, Armia, Laughton, Donato are the types that
should have been added last offseason...at least 1 that calibre. So, if they can even land a Marchessault
or Rackell, they are still down at least 1 quality bottom 6 NHL player.

I suppose if they can land 2 players - Rackell and Evans, that will go a long way.

I got a disturbing DM on X that seems to indicate that media may be soon softening
fanbase for a Clarke move. Not sure how legit it is. If Clarke is to be dealt, they had sure
better get the kind of return Jiricek got: #1, #2, #3, Daemon Hunt.
I think MTL and BUF may be interested....I say get Tuch and Byram...or Cozens and Byram. Add Moore and Cozens retained rest of year.
And they retain some and only if Tuch extended. Jokiharju was a healthy scratch last game...weird, in that he had 2 goals this past week. I'd prefer Byram, ofc.
MTL? I would want their #1 2025, no protection and Evans...and not their #1 2025 Calgary.
But ask for Demidov and Calgary #1 would be amazing. Maybe Clarke + 3rd for Demidov and Cal #1.
Demidov leading his KHL team in scoring at age 19. Has that ever been done?
I think he could come over in April.

Demidov

SORRY...was traveling in North Thailand a few weeks and often no wifi.

Since this post, QB still has not scored a goal. 12 GAMES now. Why does he go 10-20 games without scoring a goal? Is he really going to be consistent at scoring at least once every 10 games?
Yes, 11 assists. I don't hate the guy, but think the Kings could get more than his value...the hype, the size, the highlight goal, the potential that he will put it all together....I think he's not physical enough and he cannot score goals....you look at his goals and the ones he has scored - they are split second ones, where the puck came to him and he 1 timed or quick one at the goal....and ALL the times he shoots a muffin, he had TIME and that 1-2 seconds, I guarantee he's second guessing or even thinking if he can make another pass - like how human nature is that your mind is bombarded with negative thoughts 1000 a minute..I think he must have a negative mindset that he can't score. It shows in his confidence. Watch goal scorers like Matthews....he only thinks he's scoring and believes his shot may rip through the net.
QB and Foegele had 2, 2 on 0's on the PK this year...from memory, I think QB was the one at fault, for not even getting a decent shot. That's crazy. I'd have to see them again. But that's unheard of. Qb seems to only score when he doesn't think. I'd tell him go out there and shoot. Don;t let anything enter your mind.
Just that you're putting the puck in the net.

I just don't think he'll ever score 30 and maybe not 25. And I think he needs to be more physcial...he's a handful to contain and he skates and maneuvers well. I see all the good....and making great passes...but he's also highly erratic at times and messes plays, like Fiala often does. I've noticed Fiala has been making less flubs and erratic errors...which is great and I'd like to see that from QB.. I don't expect a perfect player, but his faceoffs have been low % too.
There's a lot to like and a lot to question.. I think if you could get Kyrou, Peterka, Rantanen (package) or Brady Tkachuk, you do it.

You should be open to moving anyone on this team, rn, for the right return.

Since Jan 11th, the Kings are:

7-9-3 (.447P%) (27th)
49.71 xGF% (18th)
2.95 GAA (19th)

Is this really a team you want to spend assets on?

I mention the GAA because defense is supposed to be our strength. 19th best GAA isn't vey good.
It absolutely isn’t the type of team that you should spend assets on, but you’ve gotta think that Rob Blake has to feel the heat.

He is primed to make a Ben Bishop type of trade here, in the name of trying to miracle his way into a series win.

The Dodgers ownership group needs to buy out the Kings ownership group. The Dodgers ownership group has proven that they are committed to winning...the Kings ownership group has not.
They’re committed to the cap but my guess is they are buying the excuses being given to them. I personally don’t think that as team that’s not committed to winning is spending like we do and I bet out backroom/back office costs are right up there. I think someone mistakenly thought Luc was ‘the guy’ and that’s what need to change.

Kyrou, Peterka, Rantanen (package) or Brady Tkachuk, you do it.
Kyrou you may be able to get for less than Byfield. Just last year he literally cried cause the fans were boing him calling out his contract.
There are no rumors of Peterka being available and hes not good enough to lose your best center for.
Rantaanen is a free agent this offseason you can just bid on him.
Tkachuk would be the worthwhile trade if hes available.

Which Tkachuk?

I am okay trading Clarke and signing Gavrikov if Clarke is traded in a package for Dobson and Gav signs for under 7 mil a year. Nether of which will happen.

Dobson is RFA and will get paid plenty. This year he is on a very reasonable 4 mil salary. They also have an older right shot forward in Palmieri that some of us think Blake may target this week. Might as well make it a blockbuster and get that #1 defender to play alongside Byfield.

What does it take?

Dobson - will need an 8 x 8+ mil extension
Palmieri (50% retention).

For

Clarke
Spence
1st
Moore - needed for salary out. Replaces Palmieri
Slukynsky

Does that come close? I think we would have to replace Spence with Greentree, which I would hate to do. Would rather add another good prospect like Slukynsky because the Islanders are set for now in goal, but in three years Hampton could become relevant in their system.

I am trying to think in the mind of Rob Blake, who seems to be in a win now, state, but still try and build a trade that would help now as well as in the future. I’m probably way off.

Absolutely,
There is no win now and has never been. Also there is a time after Kopitar and Doughty and this is where Clarke is needed.

Dobson is only 25 and a way better and bigger defenseman. Fits in with Byfield, Laf, Turcotte. Immediately replaced Doughty and can run a PP

I agree for the most part. If Clarke is going, it absolute has to be for a younger replacement Dman or a very good center. No more f***ing wingers, that position isn't nearly as important in the grand scheme. Plus a center can just move to wing if need be. I'm not expecting much from this management group, time after time they've made shitty moves that mortgage the future for temp fixes that don't even improve anything. The move I want to see most is all 3 (Blake, Luc, Bergevin) replaced with a more competent group.

Don't see any reason to get Dobson or any other offensive D. We already have 2 that we can't figure out what to do with.

Edit: Moving Clarke somewhere he can develop would be fine.

The reason they can’t figure out what to do with Clarke right now is he’s not good enough to win now. Makes too many mistakes, poor reads, etc. If they took their foot off the gas a bit and we’re willing to develop him for future years, It wouldn’t be a problem, but I think Blake still thinks he can win another cup with Kopitar and Doughty so they will pick on the kids and use them as scapegoats.

This team has so many holes and so many players playing out of place that they should give up the win now mentality

LA hosts draft this year.

We could have a lot more high-end pics if we got rid of Gavrikov, Danault, Moore, and just replaced them internally.

Gav replaced by Moverare
Moore by Turcotte
Danault basically by Kopitar.
Thomas now in the line-up.

We have a future stud 4th line center waiting in the AHL who was doing an excellent job until sent down. Bring Helenius back up. Need the physicality.

Then comes the hard decisions that our front office won’t wanna make. What to do with Drew and Anze. It’s a pretty simple question. Do they want to be legacy players or do they want another cup? Celery caps going way up making them way more attractive to teams in the playoff hunt. Even if we take a bit of retention on Anze. Teams are coveting in second line centers and right shot Dman. Take a bit of salary back if we get higher end prospects.

Time to stop pretending

Why did they cough up Necas and want to deal Rant already? Not sure how LA can inhale 9.25m prorated even with some retention.. would have to be something like Moore and someone else, plus greentree and picks.. at least it would be splash. But the question is would the sound be absorbed by the black hole.

Edit: I forgot Chi already retaining a lot on this years salary.. so that wont be the big hurdle
