I think the question, especially after ETH, you basically need to triple down on Amorim, who just gave you a historically bad season and would be selling arguably his best player a ton of dough. I would have brought Amorim back if they kept Bruno, but if you are selling him - that is a really big ask. I am not sure I would do it.

Yeah, it's a risky move, no doubt. Would be interesting if Berrada/Wilcox/Vivell have a plan for this (I would assume they do) and what it is. I mean he'd have to be replaced eventually in a few years.

Yeah this is what I mean. If you wanted to say we had a season from hell and we want to run it back; I could see it (not that I agree with it). If you wanted to take the Bruno money and clear the deck and start over; I could see it. I do not think there is a middle ground way to do this.

That was before they were brought in. Benfica execised the buy option after a loan on May 26th. Plus United are looking cash in on him thanks to the sell-on clause.

I wasn't saying Bruno would be replaced by developing young talent, but rather overall singing policy has been leaning that way. Yoro, Leon for example.

So what has changed? Ratcliffe simply wants United to target top young talent and move more quickly to get deals done. The days of wasting fortunes on ageing players on big wages are over.

To me, maybe its just me, its not a plan. At the minimum, its certainly not a unique plan. I don't think you can really take ownership of this as a plan if everyone else tries to do this too.

This would be what I call a plan. But again; this assumes full buy in to Amorim. Has he justified that? What does losing Bruno do to this. Utd basically need to say we are tripling down on a manager that probably has the worst PPG in their history. It would be a very bold move

I think there are just no 9s out there so we are just trying to get the best game breaker possible. The two guys that they probably think are difference makers are Isak and Alvarez. It would be like FSG to say “hey we just won the league with Diaz/Diogo/etc, let’s roll it over to next year if we can’t get the guy we like” which there are obviously pros and cons to that approach.

I’m not saying no to Wirtz, because I would have to settle on a worse 9, who isn’t an ideal fit. If you want to get really interesting, imagine Wirtz in that false 9 role in that striker-less formation that we dropped on Man City
