Red Sox/MLB 2025 Regular Season

OF is a little blocked right now while they could use pitching prospects, so strange.
Preister basically had the 5th spot handed to him in a silver platter this year with all the injuries...and he got leap frogged by two, if not three players.

He has the stuff, but can't actually pitch

I think Priester will be a solid big league pitcher, he’s still pretty young and the velo ticked up a bit this year.

I just think the Sox got an insane return for somebody who is like their 8th starter (I’m sure guys like Drohan and Stock looking good in Worcester so far helped too)

I just checked to see how Nick Yorke is doing and he didn't even make the Pirates out of spring training then injured his shoulder in AAA. So I guess the trade is a wash.

With the guy they got for Priester, the key part is he's so young that there's potential for it to pay out big three or four years down the road.

Not even the player they got, but the also got a pick 33 which is 3mil to bonus pool money as well.

Not sure what MIL is thinking here giving that up for what Preister has shown.

That plus they added $3 mill to their draft bonus pool

They did a good job of identifying Tobias Myers last year as a guy they could work with, they’ve got a savvy org so I imagine they see something they like about Priester in particular. While he doesn’t miss bats he’s really good at missing barrels

I'm surprised about this one. Especially with our pitching prospect tree being a bit thin.

As for the Duran story, it just goes to show how we don't know what's going through people's heads at any given time. I can relate to parts of it. To be in that heads space is a horrible, horrible thing. Been there. I'm glad he's speaking about it openly. It can save someone. Make them feel less alone. God Bless him.

After he retired Ken Griffey Jr. revealed he tried to kill himself with pills when he was a teenager but survived. What a loss that could've been.
I had no idea about Griffey Jr. I absolutely loved him growing up. I had his poster on my wall and a cheap Mariners jersey.

Wilyer Abreu picked the right time (Sunday Night Baseball early April) to go all Roberto Clemente

Probably won several years of GG on that play - tough to forget his first 3 innings of this game

wtf 😂
He changed a bunch of things up and dominated Mexico and has dominated Worcester so far

He’s throwing from weird arm angles, moving his location on the rubber from pitch to pitch, and his stuff is moving like crazy. He’s more interesting than Criswell in my opinion

Such a bizarre career, my buddy worked with him on the Cape a year before I started working for the league. Also just really easy to root for…super intelligent, self deprecating, funny. Used to be a catcher. A baseball lifer

I bet he throws tonight and we will win The Bob Stock Game
