That deal is very low risk and very high reward if he pans out. Now we know what a possible Mayer/Anthony deal will look like, Anthony will be higher.

You guys are talking like he is a slam dunk can't miss player. Maybe he is but in his mind I can absolutely understand taking the deal and having that security. It's not a guarantee. He could end up being a flash in the pan where pitchers figure him out and he ends up being some type of bust.
