Red Sox/MLB 2025 Regular Season II

You put Newcomb and Bernardino out there you will not win games. I don't care if you are the 27 Yankees. Cora likes Bernardino too, which boggles my mind.

The decision to throw to first with 2 outs after he bobbled the ground ball was asinine

Sox as they said last night have a fastball hitting problem

.181 against four-seamers 95 mph and over ~ third worst in mlb

Yikes

Odd Trevor Story stat:

Batting .297 despite having only 4 walks and 32 strikeouts.
Story is an enigma. One of those guys who looks like a bad player and a good player at the same time.

He's being lifted up by a probably unsustainable BAbip of .391. but a K/BB of 8 is also likely unsustainable, so I figure both numbers will drift toward his career averages. He's always had a high K/BB but a good BAbip and enough power in those hits which has made him a productive hitter in the big picture.

What is promising to me is that he's getting homers again and is on pace for around 30. Only two doubles though which isn't ideal, but you figure those will come with time. And he's already matched his games played total from 2024 and we still have a week more to go in April.

Story is selfish as the day is long and unadulterated garbage in terms of ability to execute. No enigma.
