2025 Off-Season Hot Stove II - Alex Bregman in agreement with the Boston Red Sox

I kinda wish we didn't sign Bregman and saved the money for Vlad Jr.

There's no way Bregman plays well enough to opt out of 40 mil per year. If I'm wrong well that's great.

I would rather sign Crochet to an extension before we sign Vlad.
Vlad will want 45M - 48M a year I would think.
That is more than Judge is making.

Have to think about total potential dollars, not just AAV. Bregman has a guaranteed $80M for 2026 and 2027, but then he'll be looking at another deal after that, starting with his age 34 season. He'd probably be looking at a 2, maybe 3 year deal then. If Boras thinks he can get a 5 year deal next offseason with more total dollars than the remaining two years of this deal, plus a potential 3 year contract after, then he'll opt out.

I don't think he'll opt out, but I don't think he's a lock not to.
